Hi gentlemen, name is happy and i just got myself BOS/BOM and all other stuff..

I'm having some trouble with the following..

when going to externals to see my plane flying I like to use my TrackIR to move about.. is this possible as I cant recognise any key in the keymapping menu?

secondly can reflector gunsight be turned darker? or should one fiddle with colours in game?

and third.. whatever key i assign to recording of tracks, nothing happens same as assigning a key to the map to see where i am but no map appears..  was great to see flight afterwards and make some screenshot art or nose-art even :-)

old IL2 hand and love to fly without icons but not with to much hassle.. sofar impressions are it looks and sounds great

yet keymapping and viewing are putting me a bit off that unless i can make it work i would shelve it and think maybe some other time. but who knows one of you might have a solution i haven't found out sofar.

ps. got everything on steam.. worked ok.

Hi Happy, welcome!

To answer quickly:

  1. Not possible as far as I know.
  2. Not tweakable yet. hopefully that can be added later
  3. When you press the key, you will see a REC sign with a red dot in the top right. The track recording will stop when the mission is over or you press again the assigned key. After that, you can see the recordings in the Main Menu -> Mission recordings. Regarding the map key, The M key default is for SP and some non-hardcore MP servers. The "O" key map can be seen everywhere. if you don't see the M map you may be flying on expert or your HUD is turned off. Try pressing "H" (show hud) and then "M".

hi happy , i think its left cont+r   to record , left alt +2  should give you some different camera options(i think) ,  o is map, press I to show plane on map if you don't see it,  i pretty much use the default keyboard controls as they are good , i just moved the important stuff my joystick.   stick with it mate.
