Habu Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 BOS should have the full content, including BOM. I think all you have to do after buying BOM is log in to BOS. The BOM content will simply become unlocked. I'm guessing it works that way because everybody can play with everybody on all maps in MP. You're right. With the update, BoS and BOM is the same. it's the account which unlock what you buy. That's why you can play in a mission which have plane you don't have, if the mission builder use a plane you have.
Gambit21 Posted September 23, 2016 Author Posted September 23, 2016 When I purchased BoM, it wasn't so clear what was going to happen. I hit the "download" button in my account because when I fired up BoS, I didn't see an update happening - when likely it had already happened. So I have that stand-alone BoM folder which likely isn't doing anything then - but I'm not comfortable deleting it for some reason.
Habu Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 So, it's like you have 2 installations of the same game.
TempestV Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Okay-I have the same problem. I created a single mission-a simple take off and land Sturmovik Mission and it doesn't show. It's not like I don't know how to use this type of editor. I have made missions in Rise of Flight. I purchased the Battle of Stalingrad at this site-not STEAM. I created a folder named Sturmovik and created another one in that with the name Sturmovik Orientation. In that file are all the necessary files. There is nothing to select when I look at mission selection in game. The mission passes the integrity check in the editor. I looked at all the YOUTUBES on mission building for Il2 BoS. I have moved that mission into the Mission Folder itself and it didn't show. I moved it EVERYWHERE and it doesn't show. I'll be damned if I know what is going on. Can someone help please? Link below has a 7Z of the mission. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4WdULP5kioDbmVmMG1fMEtCZ3M/view?usp=sharing
TempestV Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 FIXED: On game Main Screen I selected SETTINGS-->GAME--->Reset Interface Settings. The missions showed up. Whatever. :^/
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 TempestV, You have a folder within a folder that has all the mission files in which none of can be accessed by the game within its data/Missions folder. Custom made single missions need to be within a self-named folder and placed within the Games... IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad/data/Missions folder. Custom made multiplayer missions need to be placed within the Games: IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad/data/Multiplayer/Dogfight folder. ***So for your single player mission lose the first folder named Sturmovik and keep the Sturmovik Orientation folder with all 9 of the mission files and place that folder within the Games: IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad/data/Missions folder. Your mission works as a Single Player piloting an IL2 at the Yantar Airfied for me. Good luck, Tip
TempestV Posted November 27, 2016 Posted November 27, 2016 Will do. Thanks. I did originally did have it in only one folder (i.e. "Custom made single missions need to be within a self-named folder and placed within the Games... IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad/data/Missions folder.") It didn't show. But rearranged it per your suggestion it showed. I think resetting the interface did the trick.
Gambit21 Posted December 15, 2016 Author Posted December 15, 2016 (edited) Reared it's head again. The group/paste trick didn't work either, nor deleting the list/misbin, ctree and mtree files. Edited December 15, 2016 by Gambit21
Gambit21 Posted December 15, 2016 Author Posted December 15, 2016 Backed up to the base mission that I was using as a starting point, saved it again...now this new mission shows up. I have to start over on this mission 'grrrrrr...' but at least it shows up now. The previous version I was working on - nothing I did would get it to show in game.
Habu Posted December 15, 2016 Posted December 15, 2016 Gambit, to avoid to lose time. 1- Open the mission which is not showed. 2- Click with the mouse in the main windows of the editor (that one where you put plane, command, etc...) to select it. 3- Do CTRL + A , it will select all the element which are in your mission. (it could take time, if you have a lot of element, town, etc...). There will be a blue squarre. 4- Right clic with the mouse in the blue squarre => Save selection to file , save the file where you want. 5- Close teh editor 6- open the editor 7- Select the map where your mission stand (Stalingrad, moscow, etc...). Do not import town, bridge, etc.. 8- File => Import from file and select the file you saved in 4. Wait the importation which could take a few minutes depending of your CPU, and how much element there are in your mission.
Gambit21 Posted December 15, 2016 Author Posted December 15, 2016 Thanks Habu - I actually tried this, thinking it would be the fool proof fix for this problem - but even still it didn't show up in game.
Habu Posted December 16, 2016 Posted December 16, 2016 May you post your mission to have a look on it.
Gambit21 Posted December 16, 2016 Author Posted December 16, 2016 Here it is. Moved on from it, but if there's something you notice, let me know. I keep having this problem from time to time. Bugged.zip
Habu Posted December 17, 2016 Posted December 17, 2016 I have a look very quickly, and the mission is not display for me too. I open it and check a few thing, and see nothing. There is one thing i saw and maybe which could be the cause, it's that you put a Ju52 for player. At that moment, and with the version you have, the Ju52 is not playable, so using player settings instead of Ai could have corrupt the mission. But i'm not sure. I want to test in changing the type of player plane (i tried to change the model of plane, but without success, so maybe, there is something corrupt), and export the mission, and import it in a new mission. I will do it next week, because with the new patch, dev gave us some works for the weekend, as you can imagine.
Wandalen Posted January 8, 2017 Posted January 8, 2017 I got the same problem. its got nothing to do with JU52 i tryed with different aircrafts, no luck!
Gambit21 Posted January 13, 2017 Author Posted January 13, 2017 I haven't had this rear it's head lately for some reason. Make sure you're saving in the "missions/Wandalen" folder. Name the mission in the mission properties dialog before saving Save as that exact name. See Jim's post about MSBIN and Ctreecache and mtreecache files...these should be deleted before re-opening and re-saving. Finally you can open a new mission, save it, verify that it's being read in game, then paste your groups into this mission.
PopeyeAlphaPapa Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 I've spent six hours working through all the suggestions you guys have offered and cannot get any mission, however simple, to appear in the Missions screen in game.I'm using Steam version of Stalingrad with Kuban installed and Spitfire Mk VB. Trying to create a mission where I can practise take-offs and landings for the Spit Vb. I followed advice from Youtube videos to the letter, as also the advice here. Nada. Any help Welcome PopeyeAlphaPapa
Sketch Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Post your mission here, and I'll take a look at it. Or someone will beat me to the punch and look it over.
PopeyeAlphaPapa Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Landings.zip Thanks [TWB] Sketch. Mission herewith. Somewhat less ambitious than its earlier incarnation, but still not showing. PopeyeAlphaPapa
JimTM Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 (edited) I can see your mission when I place it in data/Missions/PopeyeAlphaPapa. I'm not on Steam for IL-2. Re. your mission: The mission properties GUI Map setting is "lapino-summer" whereas the Season setting is "winter". The .missions file has SeasonPrefix = "", which causes you to be dumped on the ground outside your plane when you start the mission. This bug recurs now and then. Assuming you want summer, try setting the Season property (first bullet above) to "summer" and save the mission. If SeasonPrefix is still "", then change it to SeasonPrefix = "su". Suggestions (if you haven't tried already): Check if you have another IL-2 folder under steamapps/common. In IL-2, select Settings > Game > Reset Interface Settings. Exit IL-2, delete the ctreecache and mtreecache files from the /data folder and start IL-2. Edited August 6, 2019 by JimTM
PopeyeAlphaPapa Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Problem solved. I was saving to the Missions folder in an earlier install of IL2! Once I saved the mission to the correct version, no problems. Apart from landing the bird without the terminal Ground loop, that is! Thanks for your time. PopeyeAlphaPapa 1

Craterman Posted December 22, 2019 Posted December 22, 2019 Ran into the same problems. The best advice here is any time you create a mission, set the map and place one plane in it that you know you have, mark it as player and test the map. If it is there continue making the mission. It seems my problem was not setting the map correctly in the beginning, and once you do it incorrectly, it is very difficult if not impossible to correct it. Thanks to the help here I copied the mission to a file and placed it on a correctly set map and recovered. 2

On another note, after deleting, the ctreecach and mtreecache files earlier, they do not reappear in my data folder - is that a problem? Edit - Well I'd hate to just throw my hands up and give up, especially when I'm making inroads with the editor itself. My patience with this bug though is wearing thin, especially if I can't figure out what's causing it, and have no idea what causes the the missions I was having issues with before and abandoned suddenly decide to show up. WTF? There's not enough hours in the day. Odd that I'm the only one having this problem to this degree. I just tried the 'cut and paste' into a new mission fix, and still no luck. Even if it had worked I'd need a pointer on how to quickly get everything in the right spot again, wasn't looking forward to that task but frankly I'd take that as my only hurdle at this point. ...and I think you guys are probably running out of things to tell me. You're not the only one it's happening to. I have tried a million different ways to save mission files and have not seen a single one show up in the mission list. All I get is the folder that the mission files sit in, but empty. I know they're not empty, I'm seeing and saving them there myself. In the data/Missions/ directory in their own folder names. There truly isn't enough time in the world to do this. lol
