Looking for a Squadron on UTC+8 time (Hong Kong/Australia)

Hi All,

I have just discovered IL2 BoS/BoM after playing IL2 1946 years ago and I'm now completely addicted to multiplayer. The game is great fun and the attention to detail and graphics are fantastic. It's only a matter of time before my wife divorces me....

Anyhow, I'm an aviation/military history nut and don't mind playing as the Krauts or Ivans. I'm not much of a dogfighter but not too bad at ground attack/bombing.

I'm fairly flexible with my time so plus or minus 4-5 hours of the above UTC time is fine. I had a head tracker and headset so comms won't be a problem.

Look forward to hearing from anyone who needs a pilot to fill out there squadron roster.

Happy Landings!

Hi Darbzy,

Well, the 19th Guards aren't a UTC+8 timezone squad (we are North American) but we do have lots of overlap in our flying times with a lot of Aussie's.  Now it just may be that they are night owls or are just on at times that are usual for them, but it gives me the feeling that maybe a N.A. squad may work with what you need.

Not to mention that we have a few members who fly at times that would be good for you as well, so at least you wouldn't be flying alone.

If I were you I would get on the Official BOS teamspeak when you fly and see who is on.  Chances are those people will usually be on at the times you are and, at the very least, you could have some reoccurring wingmen (which is the same thing as a squadron basically).

I don't have the information on hand for the TeamSpeak server, but I am sure it is not too hard to find at all.

Feel free to check us out too if you are interested, you may even see a couple of the 19th in the BOS TS at your times.

As p3zman said,

Jump on The BOS Official Team Speak server (this is where most English speaking pilots are). From my research there is a lack of Squads running that timezone as their primary timeslot at the moment. I usually see other LW pilots start joining TS from 2130 onwards (UTC +8).

Either side usually has a few pilots online and you may end up with adhoc wingmen without any time commitment. Typing while trying to fly isnt going to do a lot for your survival online.

Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replys. I'm pretty flex with my flying times (I don't have kids yet) and I travel a lot for work so half the time I'm jet-lagged and up all night anyway.

p3zman, your 19th Guards Squadron page is amazing. I'll jump on tonight around 1500UTC (2300 local time) and try and find you guys on team speak (I'm still yet to set it up as I only got my headset yesterday so I'm not sure how I'll go). Is there a link or code I need to find the server for BoS teamspeak?

Cheers,

Yeah, you will need the BOS TS IP address and pw for it. I don't remember the IP address but I know the pw is: bos2014

Glad you liked the page, we're getting ready to make some changes to it so it will be more efficient. Anyway, if your interested in linking up, send me a PM and I'll send you some other info so we can get some flight time with the squadron.

G'day Darbzy,

Myself, Firestorm, Toumba & Steppie are generally online Thursday & Sunday nights from 2030 AEST. We jump into the BoS teamspeak server.

We were members of _RAAF_Squad (which recently disbanded) from the 1946 days.

Hope to see you online.

Hi Darzby,

I have setup a forum for this informal Aust/NZ group to exchange info if required.  No need to join if you don't want to, but I'll try to keep general info of the group here.
