frenchfly Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Hi guys thought I would post how I got AA to work best with my gtx 670 card. This is how I got AA to work. go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data open the startup.cfg file and change these 2 settings in the graphics section to 0 like below ssao_res = 0 ssao_samples = 0 then in the nvidia control panel I have this Antistropic filtering 16x Antialiasing - fxaa on (this really did improve it for me) try with or without to see the difference Antialiasting - gamma correction: [On] Antialiasing mode: enhance application setting antialiasing setting: 16Q CSAA antialiasing - transparency: 4x supersample (may want to lower depending on your video card) I have a gtx 670 4gb by the way. hope this helps F
Fifi Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Thanks Frenchfly (love your nickname btw) but your settings looks worst than vanilla on my rig. Can add that's even first time i get worst picture using Nvidia profile! Don't understand why...
PA-Sniv Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 On my GTX570, I get best result (fps & AA) with "controlled by application" settings (IL2BoS native AA is already quite good). Cheers,
SeaW0lf Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 On my GTX570, I get best result (fps & AA) with "controlled by application" settings (IL2BoS native AA is already quite good). Cheers, I get lots of shimmering on the cockpit panel and instruments with BoS native AA. The landscape is not that bad, but it could be better, since I am maxed out. And I can't enable SS, but that maybe locked for now.
Dakpilot Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Get best results seemingly when leaving BOS settings to take care of things, if I try to override with Nvidia control AA looks worse, almost as if the Nvidia settings wont apply but is removing the BOS settings okay. With BOS at high and these ssao_res = 0 ssao_samples = 0 I get slight shimmering of camo nets and runway at medium and far distance and a tiny amount of shimmering of "towns",at far distance, maybe the fences, perhaps when SS becomes available it may sort that out, perhaps i am expecting too much getting solid 60fps everywhere though Cockpit and gauges all fine by me Cheers Dakpilot

1CGS LukeFF Posted November 26, 2013 1CGS Posted November 26, 2013 I just use the "application controlled" setting with my GTX 680, and it looks fine to me.
frenchfly Posted November 27, 2013 Author Posted November 27, 2013 Yeah I tried using just application controlled at first and it did nothing which led my posted settings. This also worked for a friend of mine so I thought it would work for others. I will try playing with sweetfx when I have time, seems to work well for most users. F
