CloD. How to repair the game-breaking update on Steam Aug-23rd-2016

1) Back up your game folder in the STEAM folder on your hard drive...Keep it somewhere else on your PC until you know you have configured this update successfully..

3) Start STEAM

4) STEAM will download the update....At the bottom you should see a downloading bar filling....

5) Once it has downloaded.....Click on LIBRARY....then..Click on GAMES

7) Click Properties

8) You now have a new tab at the end of the tabs called 'BETAS'...Click on BETAS

9) Select the beta you would like to opt into:....SELECT......NONE-Opt out of all beta programs

10) Close STEAM (and reboot PC)

11) Start your game to test that the update has not been installed....Game should run as usual

I literally re-installed this about 3 days ago, just to check out what Team Fusion had been up to.

Now, it's broken. 

 

Why did it even get a Steam update in the first place?

Curious is that STEAM update - fix Win8 compatibility issue, was delayed at least 4 years.

 

The issue was fixed by community member in~ 2012 http://forum.1cpublishing.eu/showthread.php?t=36078 to not say in TF patches.

Thanks Mysticpuma!  I appreciate the help from the thread.  Gonna see if I can actually manage two installs this time.... lol come to think of it a third backup option might not hurt in case steam does this again.
