Getting back into mission making, need some guidance.

OK - in anticipation of future development/fronts - time to jump back into this after a long absence.

I was one of the more active mission/campaign builders in the old IL2, and it's time to start getting acquainted with this new mission builder - finally.

I need some help to get me started.

Where are the best learning resources, user made manuals etc to allow me to help myself in learning this editor?

I'm talking written manuals, videos - whatever is out there.

I don't need my hand held, but I'm starting from ground zero here, so any help at this stage is appreciated.

I know some of you have been building missions for a while and a knowledge base has been established, I'd like to tap into

that knowledge base...any help greatly appreciated.

...and yes I'm searching in order to find whatever I can, but there might be some resources better than others that might save me time, etc.

I have Prangster's Guide so far - nice job.

Have a look at Coconut's groups for handling the server load, in case you do MP missions with lots of content. Those groups come in handy.

The ME is a bit different but once you get used to it its got great features. I was going to say Prangsters guide but also in case you didn't know when you play a MP game its downloaded to your pc and you can load it back into your editor. Really neat for finding groups and saving them for future use.

You can use training resources for Rise Of Flight, the key concepts of the mission editor are the same.

Then for BOS/BOM there is also Prangster's guide, and I know JimTM is working on a detailed manual, but I'm not sure when it will be out.

Once you have understood the trigger mechanism, you can look in the generated campaign missions for inspiration. It mostly applies to SP, but it can be adapted to MP. The groups thread in this forum has a number of groups with snapshots and explanations, and I'm sure their authors will be happy to answer questions.

Further to what Coconut mentioned, Prangster also has the following resources

Also, as Coconut mentioned, I am working on a detailed manual in my spare time. The ETA is...soon-ish.
