SYN_Vorlander Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 She is stunning. When she lowers her gear she looks like a pretty girl trying to sit or stand. Beautiful work 777.
[JG2]Fenderalac Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 There is no founders skin, thats a shame...
Volkoff Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) She is stunning. When she lowers her gear she looks like a pretty girl trying to sit or stand. Beautiful work 777. I tried him out, just now. I unfortunately can't really play with him, till tonight, but my first impression was...Wow! He is quite a great machine. Surely my landing technique would still lead any real pilot to a reflexive face palm, but i even landed his lovely frame, without damaging his undercarriage or any other part of his structure. He is a masterpiece. I did notice that the Founder's skin was not available. Anyone else have this happen? Till tonight... MJ Edited November 25, 2013 by =69.GIAP=MIKHA
SYN_Blackrat Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Must remember to shut the cockpit before rolling
DB605 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Awesome, simply awesome plane to fly! Sounds are gorgeus as are visuals too. Back to testing now, i haven't been this excited about any plane in any sim so far!
germanicusgermanicus1936 Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I find Bf 109 and click on it..ACCEPT says must select mission..but no missions are listed to choose. Anyone else?
FuriousMeow Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Click the folder next to the plane or double click the name, it expands to a tree with a list of missions.
Panzerlang Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 First takeoff I busted the engine and had to belly onto the snow. Second take off ok, did a few circuits and...landed! Without breaking anything or ground-looping. Beginner's luck. The rad controls don't appear to do anything but the motor never got close to over-heating according to the temp gauge. I checked with an outside look but the rads were definitely closed. The experience: sublime!
Trickyricky Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Really love it already. Cant control radiators as well - probably not implemented yet. What about prop pitch? Not able to adjust it
mazex Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Mmm, after some testing it's sadly time to admit it's too good They seem to have given it to please our hunger so nothing wrong with that. There is almost no torque at all (?) from the engine so it gets a bit shocking compared to the Lagg. Floor the throttle and no rudder needed for takeoffs. And even though the 109 was an awesome climber this is a rocket And I just did a cobra, try to lower the speed to below stall speed in level flight and yank the stick in the belly... Around she goes like an Su-35. As this is an alpha I fully understand that it's a first taste - but we have to enjoy it while we can But I do love it
FuriousMeow Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Aren't radiators and prop pitch (or RPMs?) auto controlled? Edited November 25, 2013 by FuriousMeow
WindyCityZeke Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Wow, this plane (109) is NICE! What a difference between the two. You have to be a man to fight in that Lagg or know what the heck you're doing. 2
VPK_CARTOON Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 ...You have to be a man to fight in that Lagg or know what the heck you're doing. Dont worry. We have some of those in Red Army Air Force ))) We gonna show you team-work .
SPRCrash_Nemesis Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 The BF-109 really is amazing to fly compared to the Lagg 3. Wow. What a awesome piece of German engineering. Love it.
YoYo Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Yes but LaGG-3 was more nuanced in the beginning. Here not all systems work. But model 3D is amazing! Aren't radiators and prop pitch (or RPMs?) auto controlled? Radiators - manual, prop auto but not implemented yet as I see. Edited November 25, 2013 by YoYo
eklund Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I just scored my first kill (although it was a friendly) in this simulator! :D I could brake his wing without braking mine and there he goes turning into a pile of smoke.
SPRCrash_Nemesis Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I don't mean in terms of her trim etc... you can feel the difference when you pull back on the stick at high speeds. The BF-109 is much more stable. She can handle it. The LAGG-3... not so much.
TXTwilight Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Takeoff is quite tricky. Maybe it is a combination of the engine, the landing gear and the snowy strip, but I had to be lot more carefull while the takeoff then with the LaGG. After 30 minutes of flying the F4 appaer to have a solid FM. It climbs and dives well, handles great on high speed manneuvers and turns quite good, while bruning a good chunk of energy. It could become a real alternative to the G variant, not like in the original IL2. The sound is superb, but I noticed while the AI planes flow over me they were a bit to quite in my opinion. Also, why isn´t there any button to open the small side window of the canopy?
Trickyricky Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Aren't radiators and prop pitch (or RPMs?) auto controlled? In Expert mode? I think just not working yet. In case it was auto controlled, I would the gauge for prop pitch expect to show me (in case it´s functional already of course ^^) Gauge was at 6 o clock whole time
LLv34_Flanker Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 S! The Bf109 is a joy to fly. Landing was a bit tricky at first, felt so flimsy! But did not take long to get the hang of it, just be gentle and bring her in nice and steady You need to use rudder on take-off even with tail wheel lock on. The bird flies off the runway very nicely when you lift the tail after 100km/h or so. In the air the plane is in it's element. More testing tomorrow, damn work interferes with hobbies and need to sleep some
IIrepsol Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Well done ! This is looking very, very promising... A realistic WW2 flightsim - ON THE EASTERN FRONT - is on the very top of my wishlist for future computer entertainment...beaten only by a future F18 simulator with some carrier ops...The later is not likely to happen any time soon This winter will be spent flying good old propellerplanes over russia... Thanks...and good luck with your future work on this sim...
88.IAP_Victor Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Hallo, i did a highspeed fly around at low level and had much fun Very nice to fly the 109...

Marcomies Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 109 feels almost too easy to fly after the Lagg-3 nothing to do when the plane takes care of everything. Can't wait for the combat!
Matt Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Aren't radiators and prop pitch (or RPMs?) auto controlled? They are. But they could be controlled manually aswell, but that doesn't seem to be possible yet. Atleast i can't get it to work and the radiator switch also doesn't turn. Lock tail wheel before take-off btw .
Finkeren Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 The Bf 109 is great. While it's not nearly as interesting to fly as the LaGG, it feels just about right. Very easy to control once in the air, quite agile - especially in the vertical, engine feels extremely powerful, very forgiving in a stall and recoveres from a simple spin almost the second you apply throttle. While it handles well on the ground, it seems slightly less forgiving to errors made while taxiing. I managed to dig my wingtip into the ground just by turning a bit too sharp with the toe brake. Takeoffs and landings are a breeze, as long as you have a functioning rudder. The rudder, in fact, might be my only grievance with the flight model: It seems just a bit too effective. The sight and sound of it is stunning. The devs have really captured one of the most beautifully designed planes of WW2 to perfection. The cockpit is not quite as detailed, as it was in ClOD, but it fits well with the rest. I propably won't fly the 109 quite as much as the Soviet birds, but I sure will enjoy the challenge of trying to shoot it down.
arjisme Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Nice cockpit and I thought a very simple plane to operate. Apparently some things are still not modeled. I found no radiator (water or oil) controls. Not sure which, if either, it had. Takeoff was simple. Although there is some yaw, applying rudder and not gunning it keeps it straight. I landed it first time without issues. Very smooth and no ground loop or bounce. Is FFB implemented in the early release? I only did a quick flight or two, but didn't notice any appreciable effects in the stick. Will have to try the Lagg again tonight and see if it is the same (I am guessing it is).
Fifi Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Well, i wouldn't say "Wow"...so far. Have to fly it more, but had 3 takes off and landings in same row, and first thought was "where is the FM?" (i couldn't do that at first flight with Lagg) Isn't it supposed to be a little tricky to land and fly?? With BOS 109, i felt a ROF Pfalz DIII....! (speed appart) 109 fan boys will be very happy. German planes are going to be very easy (as in ROF) Furthermore for some reason, incockpit graphics are looking very "cartoonish" here. With or without sweetfx, gauges look like drawings, colors doesn't look natural, and no gauges glass reflections... Lagg looks much better on that point to me (though i've seen better). Kind of desapointed at this moment Was expecting much better. But it's only alpha i have to remind... It seems they have reduced the landing bouncing for Lagg also (had a quick test, and my 2 landings were not like before) But i could be wrong. 3
IIrepsol Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 DD_bongodriver, thanks for the link... That looks intresting...How did i miss that ? I Will keep my eye on this one !
DD_bongodriver Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 DD_bongodriver, thanks for the link... That looks intresting...How did i miss that ? I Will keep my eye on this one ! No problem, it's easy to miss, they just don't promote themselves enough, hopefully this isn't going to be vaporware.
IIrepsol Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Yes, let's hope... If they manage to make a realistic simulation of the F18 with a good combat enviroment i will buy for sure...
Sethos Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) Quick video, bit rushed and was my very first flight. The landing went all tits-up but just a quick showcase of the plane and the sounds https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TlPwsmPcThE Edited November 25, 2013 by Sethos 1
