Thanks for sharing! Nice shooting at 13:50 !

At 10:18 an MG FF ammo drum with at least one round in it is passed from the cockpit.  That would qualify as a field mod I imagine.  That would be a lousy thing to share 109 cockpit space with - lol.

Taking the indicated timestamps as reference, the roll rate we have in game is obscenely high in all La, Yak and Me109 compared to what they do on film while getting shot to death... Or is it that much slow motion in gun gun camera footage?

Great films though. Thnx for sharing!!

Interesting landings. I see that the sim is spot on at least in that regard :-)

I think one cant compare rollrate and stuff from guncam footage with the sim. In rl the limiting factor is usually the pilot. Insim one can do exhausting flying and fancy manouvres for hours without any penalty. And its not paralizing when being shot at nor is it dangerous. THE big difference IMHO.

Thank you sharing, I did not know this one.

This AKH site is a gold mine, really !

Curiosity in the video.

To attack the twin engine bombers (???) formation the pilot came straight from dead six like their actual virtual counterparts. :)

A IL-2 take a lot of punishment.

And the plane shooting (Bf 109???) fly a bit "wobble" during shoots. :)

Big bouncing after Bf109 touch-down is very impressive. :good:

Didn't F-4 already have a retractable tailwheel?

Edit: initially the tailwheels were retractable, but after some modifications to wheel sizes, the tailwheel was made non-retractable.

Noticed all of the above , especially the "yaw wobble" when shooting the bomber.   Could it be wake turbulence affecting the leading edge slats causing induced activation on one slat resulting in the yaw? Just a thought.  :scratch_one-s_head:

Then again maybe not, http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/2718-slipstream-modelling-and-109/ , nine minute mark of video footage. :o:

Why would it be the slats as any a/c would be moved around.

There is a reason 'heavy' is used by Boeing and Airbus pilots when describing the a/c they are flying.

Even in so called clean air the airplanes are moving around. see ~7:00.

Regarding the "wobble" I would say that it's actually rudder action by the pilot to spray the target.
