The math behind the sim is off topic.

Oh, then I've rather misunderstood. But I'd like to think you'd forgive me as in the end this is exactly the forum about the math behind the sim.

Perhaps I misspoke. I should have said "the coding and implementation of the sim is off topic." The topic from the outset has been this nebulous concept of E Retention as it applies to aircraft performance, but Venturi seems to think we're talking about how the sim works.

 

I will bet anyone here 10 gorillion dollars that they are not using "e retention".

Um, I'm sorry I must be more drunk than I thought (not the first time that's happened, mind you), but is this then only about whether the developers used the term "E(nergy) retention"? I also thought that we are talking about how the sim works.

 

What benefit would that information about use of the term bring to the accuracy of the simulation?

By using the right terms you can pass along useful information to the devs.
