ACG_pezman Posted August 17, 2016 Posted August 17, 2016 (edited) The 19th Guards are recruiting pilots Who We Are: We are an 18+ North American based squadron whom takes its name from the legendary 19th GIAP, a Soviet VVS squadron from the eastern front. We fly predominately for the Allies in the new IL:2 Sturmovik series, however we also fly the Axis whenever possible. Our squadron is faction neutral, we always fly for the underdog (this is why we are a predominantly Allied squadron) and have fun working together in a variety of roles and aircraft. We do not have a strict adherence policy for flying, you fly when you can, and we like to maintain a friendly, laid back community and environment. However, having said that, we do practice once a week (Thursdays) as a squadron in preparation for the next Tactical Air War (TAW) campaign. For those of you who might not know what Tactical Air War is, here is a quick overview from their website: Every single pilot is urgently needed to defend friendly lines, attack enemy convoys and cities. Move front-line forward and capture airfield after airfield. Destroy enemy supplies and win the first multiplayer campaign in IL2 Battle of Stalingrad. This is not a simple dogfight server. We have created complex script which automatically analyze logs files after each mission. Depending on the events during the previous mission next different mission is generated. There is some kind of continuity between all missions. Intact tank convoys advance to capture enemy city. Destroyed defense lines will not be generated. Every single action has impact on the next missions. To win the map you have to capture all the enemy airfields. We have divided large Stalingrad map into three smaller maps. The campaign starts on center map. To win the campaign you will have to win all the maps toward west or east depending which side you fly on. It is where the best squadrons and pilots fly and requires teamwork as well as combined operations for success. So if you are team oriented, not afraid of Allied aircraft, and are an overall chill person then post a reply, holla at us in a server, private message us, or visit us at the 19th Guards website. **Note: Squad nights are Thursdays at 9:00PM Eastern US time** **Join us on Team-speak, visit the website for details** - 19//p3zman Current Guards: 19//p3zman 19//curiousGamblrr 19//Tuesday 19//Rekt 19//Sputnik66 19//Sabot 19//ShadowHawk 19//Godfather_Actual 19//SAG 19//Grimmace 19//Darbzy 19//Moach 19//C4yourself 19//Greacy 19//Kiakia Edited January 18, 2018 by 19//p3zman 7

ACG_pezman Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 S~ 19 GIAP for always being levelheaded, generally cool dudes to fly with and against. Well I doubt black_ice would agree since I shot him down for shoulder shooting and kill stealing. But thanks for the compliment! We look forward to seeing everyone in the skies on Tactical Air War and working along side other squads to win the campaign. Also we are still recruiting competent pilots, so if you like working together towards a common goal then check us out. We have dedicated roles when we fly missions, meaning that you may be assigned to attack a column in a IL-2 or Pe-2, or you may be assigned to escort the attack package to and from the target, or you may even be assigned the task of SEAD (Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses) with a specialized weapons load for that job, but also expected to provide additional escort if needed. We work as a team and we fly the objectives. There are other servers and other times for lone wolfing it. So if you are waiting for TAW to start, want to fly with a team that works to accomplish specific goals, and tend to fly in the North American time zone (you do not have to be NA to join us, everyone is welcome!) then we are looking for you! We have openings in the Bomber/Attack as well as the SEAD and ESCORT wings. However there are more openings for ground pounders. 2
Redroach Posted September 22, 2016 Posted September 22, 2016 Hmm, I'm thinking about applying; your profile looks quite nice to me. Would you consider a German guy that has somewhat advanced texty-text english skills, but had way to few opportunities to actually speak english? I could compensate with extensive Knowledge about WW2 stuff (I'm somewhat of a history buff)! Also, my flying skills really need improvement, something I'm working on right now . My fave is the bomber role in the Pe-2 right now. As said, reading the OP, I'm thinking this would be the best fit for me right now... provided I'm allowed to learn at first 1

Libel Posted September 24, 2016 Posted September 24, 2016 Hey folks, I'm also interested, but a few burning questions first:What aircraft do you fly? The website mentions the MiG-3, and I know historically the 19th GvIAP flew Airacobras, but I'm particularly interested in the P-40E, which was recieved by the unit. How flexible are starting times? I'm in the UK; 2000 EST is 0100 here, which could get a little rough.Lastly, how often do you fly?

I'm in the UK; 2000 EST is 0100 here, which could get a little rough. Lastly, how often do you fly? Hi Libelnon, glad to see that you are interested in the 19th GIAP. We fly all of them, but for historical events we try to stick with the aircraft that would have been in service with the 19th GIAP on that date. However it's not always possible. Before the 19th GIAP received their P-39's they flew the P-40E. In the Battle of Moscow I believe they spent nearly all their time in the P-40E, with a few sorties in Mig-3's, but the 19th didn't have them for long. We do train on the P-40 though, we like to use it for SEAD and Armed Recon missions in Tactical Air War. Yes the time difference can be an obstacle, but we try to do a lot of squad flying on the weekends when it's less of an obstacle. We do Saturday Night Bomber Flights which are usually held in the early afternoon for the US East Coast, so later in the evening for you. Also, it's important to remember that the 19th GIAP is just part of the 1st Guards Mixed Aviation Division, and as such we have sister squadrons that we are attempting to fill up. One such squadron is the 20th GIAP. There is more information on our website. And we usually fly every day, or at least someone does, however I can't guarantee a lot of 19th Guards on during your time. We are heavy North, Central, and South American right now, so we all tend to fly at around 11PM on later your time.

From what I know, only Tomahawks flew over Moscow; P-40Es were first used operationally in May of 1942 by the Russians, I believe. @P3zman - I've put in my application. Hope to hear from you guys soon Edited September 24, 2016 by Libelnon
ACG_pezman Posted September 25, 2016 Author Posted September 25, 2016 Hey p3z, just a little historical question, isn't the P-40E too late for Battle of Moscow (IIRC they arrived in early 1942?) wouldn't they be P-40B/C instead? Not 100% sure on what to tell you. From what I understand, the P-40E's were originally destined for the North African desert but were diverted away and to the Soviet Union. I don't recall the exact reason Britain gave the Soviet Union all those aircraft, but I was under the impression that a new Spitfire had arrived and the British simply didn't want the inferior P-40E's anymore.
ACG_pezman Posted June 29, 2017 Author Posted June 29, 2017 (edited) We're back on our feet and ready to move forward! We are recruiting pilots again for the 19th Guards, if you read the above post and are interested in joining the 19th, just do one of the above mentioned methods for contacting us. All relevant information about team speak can be found on our website. -p3zman Edited June 30, 2017 by 19//p3zman 3
MaxGM Posted July 10, 2017 Posted July 10, 2017 (edited) Hello there, I am a new player. To quickly 'introduce' myself, I am Max, 26 y.o from France. I used to fly a lot on the old IL2, and a bit IRL (~10h on a Jodel D112 and ~5 on an Aquila AT-01). I just bought BoS and I am enjoying it very much so far. Although I am nowhere near combat ready since : -a I don't know tacts -b I still fly on the keyboard just for TOs, navigations and some landings (gonna get my old X52 back in a few weeks, can't wait). Living on the other side of the Atlantic, I am currently unable to fly with you guys due to time shift. But as I will be moving to Vancouver next fall, I'd be really interested to join. My "planes of interest" on the red side are the La-5, Pe-2 and IL-2 (and soon the A20 too, l love pretty much everything with radial engines :D ) You can PM me for more infos, that would be very welcome. See you in the skies. Edited July 10, 2017 by MaxGM
ACG_pezman Posted July 13, 2017 Author Posted July 13, 2017 Hey MaxGM, sorry I just found this message. Check out our website and come on TS whenever you see us online. We have French speaking players already in the squad and looking to join, so you should be right at home
ACG_pezman Posted January 18, 2018 Author Posted January 18, 2018 We are opening recruitment again. Please read the first post if you are interested in flying with a Faction-Neutral squadron.
Video_Vengeance Posted August 15, 2018 Posted August 15, 2018 Hi guys, Relatively new to IL-2 BoS, just finished up the campaign and looking to get into some MP stuff, quite a green horn in most aspects. Based in South Africa, are you guys still recruiting?
