Panzerlang Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I recommend this bit of kit, it's certainly more efficacious in BoS vs RoF and adds a lot to the sense of immersion. http://www.thebuttkicker.com/

It's just difficult getting the timing to correspond with whats going on, on screen. 6
SYN_Blackrat Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I have looked many times at this, but always when it was out of stock, how does it work if I am using USB headphones and no speakers? (Logitech G35) Wife keeps asking me what I want for Xmas
Panzerlang Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 It plugs directly into your soundcard, the USB headphones and lack of speakers won't stop it from doing its thing.
JG300_Fried Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 +1 I use it with ROF, CLOD, IL2, DSC....and BOS and even FPS when I need a break (with BIOSHOCK, it's murder - no pun here) Definitely one step forward in sim-mersion. things to come : - gas and powder odors - temperature according to the weather/location/height - pain when you get shot at 1
SYN_Blackrat Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 (edited) It plugs directly into your soundcard, the USB headphones and lack of speakers won't stop it from doing its thing. Ah okay, but how does windows/the game know to send a signal to your soundcard as it is already using the G35? Or am I overcomplicating it? Edited November 25, 2013 by SYN_Blackrat

SYN_Blackrat Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I was assuming your soundcard somehow passed its signal to your USB. How is your USB sound-powered? It has its own soundcard built in, which is what was troubling me, if I had headphones plugged into the sound card then I could see it working as I assume it plugs into the Sub woofer socket. I looked into it before I got the G35, TBH I might just go back to my seinnhausers if this is a goer
Panzerlang Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 Ah. That's not going to work then. I guess, ideally, you want a 5.1 set of speakers with a headphone jack. The soundcard needs a black input hole I believe (the woofer jack). I also have a pair of Medusa headphones, that have separate surround-sound speakers in each cup and I recommend them too. Each pair of speakers can be individually controlled from the in-cable doobrie.
SYN_Blackrat Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Nope, quick google and it doesn't, need to google about headphone and mic useage too, speakers on during gaming are just not an option for me.

=LD=Hethwill Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 A buddy of mine has one, we usually make fun of him using it. Priceless moments were captured in game video where he ends the sortie - a ground attack mission with Jugs - and declares... "I am sweating!" He assures the immersion is definitely enhanced 500% with it. From the landing gear touching, flaps moving, simple vibrations are applied from everywhere as long as there is a faint sound coded in. Can imagine that with the quality we have in BoS it is a nice item. Luxury though
Zwoop Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Any good webshop where to but this thing? Somewhere in EU area or US. Simware's price is 264€ including tax and delivery.
SYN_Vorlander Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 I have a BK2. You cant use USB headphones for sound and TSpeak with a BK. Does not work. V
von_Sales Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 the feedback is adjustable, if u use it the strong way other people can hear and feel it, and it depends how u mount to your chair/playseat. I use it for 2 years or more, the feedback in propsims is realy good and adds alot to the immersion! (sorry, poor englisch) 1

I suggest the Gamer 2 http://www.simw.com/buttkicker-gamer.html cheaper and best suited for what we do. It's the one I own.
=38=Tatarenko Posted November 25, 2013 Posted November 25, 2013 Well the LaGG and La-5 series had a thin firewall so pilots reported very warm feet when flying. I could use some of that immersion in this house!

Panzerlang Posted November 25, 2013 Author Posted November 25, 2013 If you rig one up and wear headphones, can someone else in the room hear the Buttkicker rumbling and vibrating? It depends on the chair and type of floor etc.

When you get sound from both your G35 and PC sound card the setup is correct.

Thanks

Thanks Hmm, that was a tough one.. Haven't used TeamSpeak for ages.I tried to install it and it seems to work if I set Capture Device/Playback Device to G35 in TeamSpeak options. (Before I changed TeamSpeak options it was capturing output from my MB Soundcard).

ll./JG77_JadeBandit Posted December 9, 2013 Posted December 9, 2013 This would be awesome but I'm afraid it would drive my dog nuts, and does anyone else find it funny that the Buttkicker topic is HOT! I guess the bird is no longer the word.
