They are almost ready to announce. Get your fireworks or pitchforks ready depending on which camp you have claimed allegiance to.

 

"We know what we are going to do next and the next after that assuming we get the commitment for the budget. Can't say anything until that process is completed. No eta but within the next couple weeks probably, maybe sooner.

I can't wait till announce all our plans. But we can't do it all unless everyone, and I mean everyone gets behind us and buys everything we offer. It's going to be gut check time for everyone in this community and genre.

I head home in a few hours. Been a long week here in Moscow. The team has been great as always they are as committed as ever to Sturmovik and combat simming in general."

Fix the Focke and a big part of german community including me might more than linkely consider spending lots of cash on your product. But with the "BrickFocke"(my personal opinion) we have right now i can almost certainly guarantee not to spend another single dime.

 

And so you get me right. I really WANT to spend my money on WWII and BOS BOM whatever comes next. But not as it stands right now.

As is for now one can do fine with just one of the modules. I think they are about to make a totally new environment and plane set.

Wow.  So....everyone is supposed to just forget history, and assume it's gonna be GREAT....this time.  

I think the excitement is good, and so is the enthusiasm.  Hell, I'll probably buy too!  I just think that a lot of things should be addressed before a product is purchased or sold.  At least given the last couple of platforms in this genre. 

At any rate....looking forward to seeing what the plans are.

Jason, I've been a fan for many years now through RoF, BoS, and BoM. I've always associated your name with things I love about flight simming.

However if it's Russia again I'm not going to buy. I just can not buy another Russian expansion. And with such a limited game that can not support mass bomber raids I doubt it will be anything else.

Well, in my opinion they just confirm my suspicion about how much money compared to hours spent there is in this Genre. And honestly the cfs community in general are a big bunch of "knowitall" demanding ba**ards.

I believe them when they say they need everyone to buy to make a profit. To be a developer in this genre you need to have skin as thick as a Tiger two front plate and yet need to be very careful what you say, because the community is not equipped with the same thick skin

Basically saying that anything thats not western front with big bomber raids and if I guess correctly you are only interested in planes like P-51 or late 109s/190s and not the actual bombers

And yes, I thought that went without saying but my primary interests are in Spits, P-40s and P-47s.

I'd take anything that wasn't Russia. Even a freaking Spanish Civil War or battle of france. I'd even buy into the pacific at this point just to see if they do the P-40 justice, but I'll not buy another Russian front theatre. I've already sunk almost $200 into a sim I no longer fly, not making it $300.

Oh just that it was s full price game that didn't really bring much to the table. New planes and map-same old limitations and game play. For me it was a total waste of cash. Can't speak for anyone else but it's why I'm not buying another Russian expansion.

Oh well, Personally I find this game cheap, after buying all modules in DCS . I find anything this game throw at me a piece of cake. But sometimes I think beer is expensive, I just make sure I buy games when I can afford them.

You know, I'd be with you in that regard. Not so much the jets (blah) but I'm happy putting my money down on the props.

I've got no qualms buying the DCS birds, because I know they will be well done and one day I'll be flying then over France.

With this one I know it'll be more of the same, i.e. Russia, and I'm not going to spend that sort of money in it. With DCS I pay for quality aircraft, with this one I'm not sure what I paid for.

If that's the case nothing would stop talented community members from creating a map for an area outside Russia where these planes could be used too (Malta, North Africa or Italy?). That's how it was done in the old IL-2 too.

Exactly! They have shown already they are open to adding 3rd party content. So modders get busy with planes and maps!

Im annoyed by the same flat maps, I know they are realistic, but annyoing nevertheless. My hope is that, even if they decide to stay on eastern front, they ll do Kuban or something like that, so that they could improve naval operations, maybe prepare for the pacific

I have no problem buying everything 1CGS makes. They have a commitment and proven record of delivering what they say they will. The quality of the game and balance of features is excellent. I can't wait to see what comes next.

And right now, this new IL-2 series IS the combat flight sim genre. So far 1CGS has succeeded where nobody else had in 8 years. Making a successful WWII CFS. Let's keep that sucess going!

I too will not buy another Russian theater.  Two are sufficient.

Sorry but no, this is no substitute for a true open mod friendly point of view.

"Mods On" isn't necessary to have 3rd party created maps. It's important that the Devs maintain control over integrating those because otherwise it could just fragment multiplayer. Example, you can fly on a server with the Moscow map even if you don't own BoM. But that couldn't be guaranteed with uncontrolled mods.

Map creation isn't easy either and a certain level of quality should be maintained.

Maybe the next expansion will be Russia and they'll announce the one after that as a North Africa/Western Europe just to get folk to buy the next Russian installment. "you HAVE to buy everything". that's my prediction. You heard it here first
