seafireliv Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 (edited) They added sirens to airfields and an option to extend the grass, both things i`ve whined about can`t believe they actually did it! Thankyou, Devs! Now let`s have a campaign where missions are chosen for you instead of me having to roll a die for one. Edited August 9, 2016 by seafireliv 1
Urra Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 But is useless because of it performance hit even on my i7 6700K :-) I would think this is more dependent on you video card.
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I would think this is more dependent on you video card. I have duble GPU 690 GTX
ST_ami7b5 Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 (edited) Tomcat, I have also i7 2600k but with GTX 780 and I experience no performance problems... Edited August 9, 2016 by ST_ami7b5
GridiroN Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I have a single GTX 980 Ti, driving a 1440 IPS 144hz gsync and the extend grass feature drops my fps from about 80 to 36. Not worth it for me, but nice feature for people with the horse power.

4thFG_Cap_D_Gentile Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Tomcat, I have also i7 2600k but with GTX 780 and I experience no performance problems... Same here, runs great and looks great.
216th_Jordan Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 CPUs have come to kind of a stand still in development. My 3 Year old 4820k is doing almost as well as a Skylake while its easily overclocked to 4.4 Ghz without a lot more vcc. So skylake or not, overclocking is the word. Btw: What exactly causes this performance hog is hard to say when we know little about the dynamics of the grass simulation. A graphics card with enough VRAM from 970 up should basically do the job somehow. But just so you know: 3 times the radius is 9 times more grass to render than before! (Area = pi*r^2)
SharpeXB Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I have 2x Titan X graphics cards and an overclocked 4790K and the extended grass is too much for me. Maybe DX11 will make it easier to handle. 1

Trinkof Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I lost a lot of fps also, Dropped my sparse grid supersampling to 2 in nvidia inspector. Now solid 60 fps, 40 when in very low alt furball. Cpu is really stressed in BOS, you can run the game on ultra settings with a GeForce 760. Most of people who suffer fps drop often forget to say they use sparse grid supersampling, not supported by BOS, nor any other game as this is not a real game setting, this is a "beta feature" which showed a lot of use in stalker clear sky modding , and stayed in the nvidia inspector at the request of some modders. 1
ShamrockOneFive Posted August 11, 2016 Posted August 11, 2016 I'm going to guess that the grass rendering could be a lot more efficient than it is right now and that eventually we'll see some improvements there too.
