hh NO, please give back the old Gunfire sounds!!! This is my first post in this Forum since i bought BOS/BOM in 02/2015. The new Gunfire Sounds felt i drum on a virtuell Drum-Instrument... not like a Gun!!!

I agree completely.  The new sounds sound very tinny.  I would dearly like to have the old sounds back again.

i devs    i just noticed i can play with full grass on Stalingrad and it looks great  and runs great, however full grass on moscow map takes me down to 7 fps.  i guess i'll turn it off for now.  anyone else manage good fps on moscow with full grass?    i'm not very pc savvy is it time i upgraded?   congrats on getting  moscow released. :salute:

The gunner's position in the 110 has been fixed. Let joy be unconfined!

Everything else is pretty gosh-darned sweet as well.

Thanks for your mighty works devs.

New gun sounds are definetly louder and more crisp. You can even hear the moving belt sounds i think (metalic sound). However, when going 500kph with wind blowing, with loud enginie, and enclosed under canopy - not that much of volume and high frequencies should be heared, at least it would be my conclusion.

as example:

sound from pilot's perspective

standing next to canon

Secondly, the externals gun sounds are definetly worse (at least the Bf109 ones). Beforehand it was nice, dakka dakka dakka, with high-cut-off. Now, again, too cripsy and clear.

Of course the samples used are of personal preference but the sound environmental effects are worse than before. Just cut off the higher frequencies both internal and external.

The update is outstanding. FPS is smoother and spotting easier. Small tweaks do wonders for the immersion.

In fact because of the helmet and the headphones, it's quite the opposite most the high frequency are attenuated and we should mostly ear low frequency sounds.

Even if the sounds is completely realistic like som say I think its sounds better from a gameplay perspective

Probably a GPU upgrade would do. The rest is good.

The new 480 sounds like a good card if you like the red team.

Game play here is so smooth!! :good: Looks very pleasing as well.

I personally really like the new ammunition sound, can hear the spent shell casting leaving the ammunition belt!

Took a couple of screenshots of this update, (all in game and nothing else).

Guns - they sound a little too bright from my zero-knowledge on the matter...but... they ARE more fun and give me a childish satisfaction in pulling the trigger. I can live with them ;-)

Same here. Maybe its just the novelty but the new sounds give me a lot more satisfaction than before. They were too dull and boring.

Even if they are too "gamey", ill take them over the old ones any time.

That is exactly what I'm saying. Not that much of high frequencies should be heared = less higher frequencies, more low.

That's true. I'm sure that Developers know what they're trying to achieve - more realism or balance realism/gameplay. I'm just critisizing it from sim/realism perspective. It's not whining. Also I'm really nifty about the sounds in all games. Sounds can really be a gamebraker.

Nice Update except the new gunssounds. They are much too loud in comparsion with the engines, and the sound is too clear.

I like the new gun sounds, great job!

Maybe in the future there could be separate slider to adjust gun sound volume.

Gun sound is ok but i think too loud specialy Mgs when you shot all your guns you cant hear the nose canon.

Radeon RX480 would be a good option. Other possibility is GTX1060. Both will give you enough horsepower to crank up details. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/amd-radeon-rx-480-polaris-10,4616.html http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-geforce-gtx-1060-pascal,4679.html

Great update! Had some of my best campagne-missions so far. The first time my wing-mates actually engaged assigned ground-targets!!  The fighter-cover stayed with us and eventually took care of the vultures and  we finally all went home less one plane. Love it...

Sounds are terrific and maybe a bit to loud, but I like it that way. Keep it. The grass is simply too much for my triple-monitor system. A view blades of grass too much with a 120 degrees fov. I would rather have a "mower-checkbox":-). I think vr-headset users would welcome this too.

Great job, thank you devs

I've noticed that I can no longer select BoM AI planes in Quick missions on the Stalingrad map (I don't own BoM yet). The BoM planes don't appear in the list of selectable planes, but when I use the random plane option I still get BoM planes in the missions. Was this done deliberately or is it a bug?

We know about this issue, it will be fixed

Regarding the FFB effect - I think the stick is shaking way too much during ground handling.

It feels like as if the control surfaces of the plane were connected directly to the suspension of the landing gear.

Reinstalled to check out the new patch. Fired up the P-40 to check out the new sounds.

The M2 didn't sound like an M2 does, but it was better than before. Sounds were wayyyyyyyy too loud.

Fired up a 109G2. Not having the intimate experience with these weapons that I do the M2 I can't say if the sounds were good or bad but so overdone and loud as to be distracting. Really incredibly loud. Not good.

I agree. I'm afraid that it will break my aging MSFFB2 stick.

Have you guys turned the stick shaking forces down in the options? I don't have this problem at all.

Hi i could test this, but doesn't this also tune down the force for inflight? I like stick force when flying.

There're two separate options, stick shaking and stick force. Not at my computer at the moment so can't say for sure, give it a go and see what you find :)

Ah, that was the problem - seems like every option was reset for me.

I´ve only checked graphic settings before but shaking was back at a 100%

Thanks a lot!

There's a trillion threads already here discussing that topic.

Apparently you can adjust grass distance in startup.cfg now, even further than 300 meters... Beware that this will kill your fps - but is a nice feature for screenshots :)

Yeah it kills my fps too even with the specs below. Maybe it will be more workable with DX11

Awesome. Gotta try it. The terrain file doesn't seem effective anymore though, but still needs more testing.

excellent I go to try it !!
