xvii-Dietrich Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 hh NO, please give back the old Gunfire sounds!!! This is my first post in this Forum since i bought BOS/BOM in 02/2015. The new Gunfire Sounds felt i drum on a virtuell Drum-Instrument... not like a Gun!!! I agree completely. The new sounds sound very tinny. I would dearly like to have the old sounds back again.
CisTer-dB- Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 8. FFB effects improved on all planes. Hi sorry if it was answered before but what is FFB?
I./JG1_Deschain Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I agree completely. The new sounds sound very tinny. I would dearly like to have the old sounds back again. I guess theres always gonna be people who complain
=EXPEND=Tripwire Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 8. FFB effects improved on all planes. Hi sorry if it was answered before but what is FFB? Force Feedback. Special feature of some joysticks.
=EXPEND=Capt_Yorkshire Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 i devs i just noticed i can play with full grass on Stalingrad and it looks great and runs great, however full grass on moscow map takes me down to 7 fps. i guess i'll turn it off for now. anyone else manage good fps on moscow with full grass? i'm not very pc savvy is it time i upgraded? congrats on getting moscow released. Intel 4690 @ 3.5 ghz radion r9 270x 16 gig ram

KpgQuop Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 The gunner's position in the 110 has been fixed. Let joy be unconfined! Everything else is pretty gosh-darned sweet as well. Thanks for your mighty works devs.
Zygiert Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 (edited) New gun sounds are definetly louder and more crisp. You can even hear the moving belt sounds i think (metalic sound). However, when going 500kph with wind blowing, with loud enginie, and enclosed under canopy - not that much of volume and high frequencies should be heared, at least it would be my conclusion. as example: sound from pilot's perspective standing next to canon Secondly, the externals gun sounds are definetly worse (at least the Bf109 ones). Beforehand it was nice, dakka dakka dakka, with high-cut-off. Now, again, too cripsy and clear. Of course the samples used are of personal preference but the sound environmental effects are worse than before. Just cut off the higher frequencies both internal and external. Albino Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 The update is outstanding. FPS is smoother and spotting easier. Small tweaks do wonders for the immersion.

In fact because of the helmet and the headphones, it's quite the opposite most the high frequency are attenuated and we should mostly ear low frequency sounds. 2
6./ZG26_McKvack Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Even if the sounds is completely realistic like som say I think its sounds better from a gameplay perspective

Intel 4690 @ 3.5 ghz radion r9 270x 16 gig ram Probably a GPU upgrade would do. The rest is good. The new 480 sounds like a good card if you like the red team.
Boomerang Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 (edited) Game play here is so smooth!! Looks very pleasing as well. I personally really like the new ammunition sound, can hear the spent shell casting leaving the ammunition belt! Took a couple of screenshots of this update, (all in game and nothing else). Love what the team is doing, Edited August 10, 2016 by Boomerang 2
Jade_Monkey Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Guns - they sound a little too bright from my zero-knowledge on the matter...but... they ARE more fun and give me a childish satisfaction in pulling the trigger. I can live with them ;-) Same here. Maybe its just the novelty but the new sounds give me a lot more satisfaction than before. They were too dull and boring. Even if they are too "gamey", ill take them over the old ones any time.
Zygiert Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 In fact because of the helmet and the headphones, it's quite the opposite most the high frequency are attenuated and we should mostly ear low frequency sounds. That is exactly what I'm saying. Not that much of high frequencies should be heared = less higher frequencies, more low. Even if the sounds is completely realistic like som say I think its sounds better from a gameplay perspective That's true. I'm sure that Developers know what they're trying to achieve - more realism or balance realism/gameplay. I'm just critisizing it from sim/realism perspective. It's not whining. Also I'm really nifty about the sounds in all games. Sounds can really be a gamebraker. 2
RFG_Hisl Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Nice Update except the new gunssounds. They are much too loud in comparsion with the engines, and the sound is too clear. 3
LLv24_Zami Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I like the new gun sounds, great job! Maybe in the future there could be separate slider to adjust gun sound volume.
E69_geramos109 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Gun sound is ok but i think too loud specialy Mgs when you shot all your guns you cant hear the nose canon.

Sorry I miss read you :D I'm AFK and didn't ear how they sound, I looking forward to try the new update and can't wait to ear them. Intel 4690 @ 3.5 ghz radion r9 270x 16 gig ram Radeon RX480 would be a good option. Other possibility is GTX1060. cellinsky Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Great update! Had some of my best campagne-missions so far. The first time my wing-mates actually engaged assigned ground-targets!! The fighter-cover stayed with us and eventually took care of the vultures and we finally all went home less one plane. Love it... Sounds are terrific and maybe a bit to loud, but I like it that way. Keep it. The grass is simply too much for my triple-monitor system. A view blades of grass too much with a 120 degrees fov. I would rather have a "mower-checkbox":-). I think vr-headset users would welcome this too. Great job, thank you devs Marcel
1CGS BlackSix Posted August 10, 2016 1CGS Posted August 10, 2016 I've noticed that I can no longer select BoM AI planes in Quick missions on the Stalingrad map (I don't own BoM yet). The BoM planes don't appear in the list of selectable planes, but when I use the random plane option I still get BoM planes in the missions. Was this done deliberately or is it a bug?We know about this issue, it will be fixed
9./JG27golani79 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Regarding the FFB effect - I think the stick is shaking way too much during ground handling. It feels like as if the control surfaces of the plane were connected directly to the suspension of the landing gear.
Original_Uwe Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Reinstalled to check out the new patch. Fired up the P-40 to check out the new sounds. The M2 didn't sound like an M2 does, but it was better than before. Sounds were wayyyyyyyy too loud. Fired up a 109G2. Not having the intimate experience with these weapons that I do the M2 I can't say if the sounds were good or bad but so overdone and loud as to be distracting. Really incredibly loud. Not good.

1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 In my opinion new sound are better with one exeption to much soprans -high pitch sounds. 1
Hoots Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I agree. I'm afraid that it will break my aging MSFFB2 stick. Grt M Have you guys turned the stick shaking forces down in the options? I don't have this problem at all.
Dutchvdm Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Have you guys turned the stick shaking forces down in the options? I don't have this problem at all. Hi i could test this, but doesn't this also tune down the force for inflight? I like stick force when flying. Grt M
Hoots Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Hi i could test this, but doesn't this also tune down the force for inflight? I like stick force when flying. Grt M There're two separate options, stick shaking and stick force. Not at my computer at the moment so can't say for sure, give it a go and see what you find
9./JG27golani79 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Have you guys turned the stick shaking forces down in the options? I don't have this problem at all. Ah, that was the problem - seems like every option was reset for me. I´ve only checked graphic settings before but shaking was back at a 100% Thanks a lot!
150GCT_Veltro Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Sounds are great but i agree they are too loud at least.
JG4_Sputnik Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Cool! Still waiting for Rift support before I buy
sport02 Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 (edited) the gun sound is too loud also for me , too clean and less different between planes than before it's seem , no ? grass too white and I hope that one day we can see it at a lot bigger distance . Edited August 10, 2016 by sport02
Pilot_Rabbit Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 I am quite curious about what sort of future direction or project will be after the discussion?

Sim Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 (edited) Apparently you can adjust grass distance in startup.cfg now, even further than 300 meters... Beware that this will kill your fps - but is a nice feature for screenshots Edited August 10, 2016 by Sim
SharpeXB Posted August 10, 2016 Posted August 10, 2016 Apparently you can adjust grass distance in startup.cfg now. Beware that this will kill your fps - but is a nice feature for screenshots grass.jpg Yeah it kills my fps too even with the specs below. Maybe it will be more workable with DX11
