I agree. I abandoned WT at the beginning of summer and I have been sober since! 1946 has filled the void of plane variety.

We know what we are going to do next and the next after that assuming we get the commitment for the budget. Can't say anything until that process is completed. No eta but within the next couple weeks probably, maybe sooner.

I can't wait till announce all our plans. But we can't do it all unless everyone, and I mean everyone gets behind us and buys everything we offer. It's going to be gut check time for everyone in this community and genre.

I head home in a few hours. Been a long week here in Moscow. The team has been great as always they are as committed as ever to

Sturmovik and combat simming in general.

Good times ahead.

Bring it on Jason! I'm ready to find out what you have planned next and I'm excited to see what shape it takes!

I wasn't making a threat, only stating a fact. I'm fighting to give this series and combat sims in general a future. Not many investors believe in it. With the products we want to make and the features, improvements and other enhancements we've added to our goals, sales should be strong for years to come. But even after all that we can't create a strong future for IL-2 then we're doomed.

You;ll just have to wait and see.

I'm looking forward to the announcement. I feel that the Maps & Planes only philosophy of today's flight sims tends to significantly limit their appeal. I'm hoping for some new depth of gameplay to bring it all together.

I'll support regardless. I have poured many hours (and dollars) into this great product because no other game/software so realistically recreates the feeling of being in the pit of a warbird with the fear and anticipation that lies ahead. The scenery is breathtaking and the effects are so visceral you could just get lost in them. I have also gifted a few planes to new players to help support the cause.

Great job and looking forward to whatever the IL2 boys bring to us. I believe that this sim is going to go a loooong way because it is pure art regardless of what you want to fly.

P.S. A new theatre and new planeset would not hurt either :P .

to be straight nowadays is a good attitude and not often been seen anymore, i appreciate that.

for me BOS/BOM  and maybe BOB (Berlin) could be the beginning of the successor of the famous beloved il2 1946 but

To increase the Profit of the game and get it in stable financial Terms you have to wider the crowd of users , that means for me imho not another eastern war Scenario, include and conquer the american market with another planeset and western war Scenario, but also keep the existing users on board

and also pay Attention to the old Focke Wulf FM Discussion instead its maybe boring for you

greets from good old germany

That's exactly my opinion. Gameplay improvements should be equally important to new planes and maps. What should an offline player like me do with a new map and additional planes when there is no interesting content for them?

I would agree, for me it is not important where and what would i fly but in what degree i will be immersed and shocked about depth of game.

I'm more than keen to support IL2 as long as you guys provide what people are asking for. I'm really not too fussed about another Eastern front offering, but Brit/Med/Pacif would be an instant buy from me

We are getting both. We'd be hard pressed to say the game has not been continously improved (and continues to improve). Maybe not at the rate some would like but they are adding content and improving existing elements with every release and patch.

I'd say that it's being improved much faster than most games out there. I play a lot of games from many genres and this is definitely at the top in terms of improvements, communication and time to release updates.

He must have been a big part of that. I'm sorry to hear that he has left though as he really was an impressive guy when it came to managing a project on time.

Being able to create mods for single player would be amazing. Smaller HUD text and better briefings layout would be my first port of call.

Yeah I guess my post sounds a bit pointed. It really is a shame to see him go as he seemed a major force in the development of the new Il-2.

I was just meaning that if he is leaving the chances are probably pretty good we could get a mod mode similar to RoF.

Empty words. You know quite well you won't get every single person to buy everything. You aren't dumb.

So either you are planning something you know will fail or you're just being disingenuous.

Either way I don't find your message to be effective. Most of us are adults.

I will not repeat the mistake I made with CLOD. I'll buy your next product if and only if it's both good and interesting.

You feel better now? I really don't care if you find my message effective. I was just giving an update on the situation and calling me a liar isn't helpful. Go do it somewhere else.

Jason is right. You can't make something if you don't have money. Superman wouldn't be around today if people stopped buying the comics. A modelling store I like has probably closed down by now thanks to lack of sales. Production on anything is dependent on money.

Have you ever considered a crowd funding structure as an option for some future projects / add-on's ? I assume that there are a lot of people here that wouldn't have much problem to spend a decent amount of money to get planes and scenarios of their desire in that way... e.g. a step wise structure with a) for this and that sum X we can develop a new plane (which will be determined by a forum's poll), b) for a higher sum Y we will create a map/scenario etc.

Very interested to see where this is going next... have to say I'm more interested in game play improvements for the single player than anything else.

Over the last year, patches have slowly been nudging the game in the right direction, so well done to the team.

As to other theatres, I have no desire to stay on the eastern front... that said, if it does, will I buy it?

I haven't worked for over a year now, so money is tight, but if I can afford it I'm sure I will.

Why would I do that? Probably because I want the name of IL2 to live on.

Years ago I played the demo, I bought the original game, and I have bought all the brands products since... hopefully this can continue.

For me the future of IL 2 is to finally create Coop as we all did. A suite in North Africa would be very interresting. The addition of the "Mods On", "Mods Off" will be but not immediately.

A Mods on/off would make sense when development stops or the base of the game is a lot bigger (say 2 expansions). Otherwise you'll fragment online community. Theres no problem for devs to implement good mods into the game right now.

Nobody has the right to tell you what to do with your money.  That is your decision.  There is a simple question: do you want a product like this one?  If you do then you have to support it, otherwise it dies.

I used to be able to hop into a Aces Over <someplace> game and start playing.  RoF/BoS/BoM have to be learned.  They are approaching the fidelity that the harder core of the community has craved and demanded.  In doing so they are leaving casual players behind.  Think about it: they cost more to produce but have a smaller customer base.

Support it or don't, that is your call.  However, if you don't, what are you going to do?  Go to War Thunder forums and bitch about the FM?

I bought everything for RoF and don't regret spending 1 penny of it, even if I haven't got around to using every item I bought, in my mind I'm doing my bit supporting this great genre of gaming and I'll do exactly the same with BoS/BoM or what ever comes next. I only play flight sims on PC and nothing else and I have a great time doing so. I think this product is brilliantly made, well presented, updates come along often, the community is kept informed of developments, seriously what more can we expect. I read some people bitching about the smallest details that does't quite suit them or they read a post and take instant annoyance to its content and the toys come out of the pram, it's quite pathetic to think that there are grown up people out there, taking vital seconds out of their lives which they will never get back and wasting it writing such bollocks.

Jason, you guys make and I'll buy it.........simple, I haven't felt let down for 1 minute so far with this project or RoF and I don't suddenly think it will start now, I for one look forward to future developments.

Thanks to all involved.

Cheers.

For my part, I have been supporting the team so far, but there are some details that should be reviewed before reinvesting.
From a performance basis, through the FW issue, and ending in rendering the objectives for altitude bombers .....

Generally speaking I like very much "game", I'm almost daily on servers, but another map "white" not stand (Russia) ....

This is my opinion, which does not have to be accepted and of course put on trial.

greetings to all ...

Just as I have done with RoF, I will buy nearly everything offered in BoS or BoM .RoF had a very ragged start but continued to grow & improve ( until 777 started to devote most of their time to BoS) and I can only hope ( & expect )the same here. They certainly have made headway since the original 'beta" BoS I bought into.

Sure I'll buy the next planes if I have to...don't know what i'll use the Ju-52 for ( I can't say i've used the variants over at the original Il-2 for much except joy riding around the various maps in quick missions...) I hope they eventually offer floats on the plane, that way I can land on lakes &  taxi up to my vacation Dacha! ;)
