Does Install/Update require Early Access Server

Hi,

 

Excuse my ignorance here.

 

If the 'Early Access Server' is only available next week Tuesday, .. does that mean I cannot Install/Update?

 

The way I read it, .. it meant that there was 'No Multiplayer/Online Play'.

 

The reason I ask, .. is that I got a few different errors when trying to 'Update'. e.g. 'failed to read updater.config' etc. etc..   

 

If one cannot actually Install and/or Update the Sim, .. then that needs to be made a bit clearer.

 

Would have rather made my purchase on Tuesday, .. had I known that. There's a whole lot I could have done with R1000.00 ZAR, between now and Tuesday.

Correct, the servers are off and therefore nothing to connect to in order to download the program.

They will be available on Tues-Thursdays , until such time as they open it up to more days.

When they say, .. 72 hours from Tues to Thurs .. is it mentioned anywhere what time on Tuesday?, .. with reference to GMT.

Well last week we (as in GMT) were able to access it Monday evening as it run from Tuesday 00:00 or there abouts Moscow Time.

Which is cool, I get to play it on the day I just completed 53 orbits around the Sun

This is a seemingly common misconception.

 

Guys, there is nothing to "fix". The only times the servers are available are when 777 Studios has them online (operational). Right now per their instructions that is approximately Tuesday to Thursday. Anyone trying to access the game server on other days will be disappointed as they simply are not online, period. This is all by their design, not chance or error.

So, no updating, downloading, etc. except when they say we can.

 

It won't be that way forever, thank goodness. Just for now, so the team can concentrate on their work and not have to deal with server issues, etc.

I just downloaded a 44MB update using the Launcher.exe in bin/game.

 

Installed successfully.

 

Just a few hours to wait before being able to play...
