SYN_Mike77 Posted August 22, 2016 Author Posted August 22, 2016 That may be a good idea Bommel. I'll give it a try. I guess I will have to contact tech support here on the no disk thing.
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 -snip- So I was thinking about a 4 mhz something. -snip- That may be a good idea Bommel. I'll give it a try. I guess I will have to contact tech support here on the no disk thing. Although USB 3.0 is supposed to be backwards compatible with USB devices it isn't always in practice... Assuming you're plugging in to a USB 3.0 port of course.

SCG_Space_Ghost Posted August 22, 2016 Posted August 22, 2016 (edited) great. all I have are usb 3 plugs. Do you know if the motherboard has a USB 2.0 header? You can always buy an expansion card. If they sent the mobo manual in the box there should be a few pages on header locations on the board. This is probably the easiest and most elegant solution: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815158172 I'm trying to be helpful but I've got to just throw this one out there because I'm a shithead like that - this is why there is always more value in building your own. Boomerang Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 But, with or without the saitek software, windows 10 does not recognize my pedals! What it says is "unknown usb device. (set address failed). Everything else registers. Also, has anyone else ever had that no disk message? I did a search but came up empty. Hi Mike, Did you reinstall the two applications via your: Games data/redist folder? Have, or has your Windows been activated? (regarding the please insert disk). Or it may be asking for a driver, via disk? I run a few machines at home, I just copied and pasted my IL-2 game directory via usb. All seemed to work out okay, (it's not a steam version tho). If your running out of usb ports, there are some keyboards around that have them in them. Or is it at all possible to plug your pedals into your joystick or visa versa?
Boomerang Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 There is free software that helps keep your system cleaner/slimmer: http://www.glarysoft.com/ is one example. If your new machine has an SSD, do Not de fragment it, it will shorten the life of the drive/s. Windows can fill your disk, if left to it's own devices. Hope some of this helps in some way, it can be annoying shelling the brass for something that you expect to work. S!
SYN_Mike77 Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 I'll be trying a few things on the pedals tomorrow. The disk that is being asked for is an IL2 disk. Windows has been activated. BTW, Rise of Flight runs just fine without asking for a disk.

BTW, Rise of Flight runs just fine without asking for a disk.Installing Saitek drivers for X52 joystick for Windows 10 was bit tricky because there was certification missing. Maybe same applies to pedals? There are instructions on Saiteks website how to do it. If I remember correctly you had to go device manager and first manually install saitek drivers by choosing saitek from the list with all manufacturers. After that you could install the drivers you downloaded from saiteks website. 1
SYN_Mike77 Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 I'll give that a try after work Remontti.
LLv34_Flanker Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 S! Might as well add my new rig here, check signature. Pedals are still pending, most likely Slaw's pedals With new display went to 2560x1440 resolution and nVidia offers the performance needed.
SYN_Mike77 Posted August 26, 2016 Author Posted August 26, 2016 So, just in case anyone else has the USB 3.0 backwards compatibility problem here was my $7 solution. I had this laying around from my old computer. Plugged my pedals into this and then this into the back of the computer. Problem solved. I can't fly with a twist stick any more! https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00BWF5U0M/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
SYN_Mike77 Posted September 3, 2016 Author Posted September 3, 2016 Well, I've had the new rig all set up how I like it for a bit over a week now and I got to say this thing rocks! I have graphics on ultra and all the extras maxed out (like grass draw distance etc) and the framerates never drop below 60. Never! It looks and feels so much better than my old system. Thanks for all the help from the community in picking this out and in helping me set it up. You guys are great!
=362nd_FS=Hiromachi Posted September 3, 2016 Posted September 3, 2016 Now you make me jealous Mike Nice to hear that you have fun with new system
SYN_Mike77 Posted December 2, 2016 Author Posted December 2, 2016 Well a not so happy update. After nearly 4 whole months of flawless performance the rig went tits up on me. I'm pretty sure it's a bad video card as all my gear lights up when I turn the rig on but no signal goes to the monitor. I've swapped out monitors and 3 different cables all to no avail. Ibuypower is issuing an RMA to ship it back for repairs...At least it's still under warranty.
Bando Posted December 3, 2016 Posted December 3, 2016 Hate it when something like that happens. It will probably be fixed to your satisfaction, but the rig will be gone for some time. Good luck with this cold turkey...... 1
SYN_Mike77 Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 Thanks Bando. I'll be lucky to get it back by the end of the year. It's being shipped from Kentucky to Los Angeles. Luckily when I bought it I opted for the return shipping option. It cost me $10 and probably saved me $100!
