JimTM Posted August 5, 2016 Posted August 5, 2016 (edited) Has anyone noticed that the influence area translator does not work anymore? Many months back, I tested the influence area translator and found out how it worked. I found that if you land a Russian plane in a German influence area, you are considered to be captured and a point is added under the skull and crossbones icon in the multiplayer post-mission stats. I ran the same test today and found that the stats are not updated anymore. Edited August 5, 2016 by JimTM
LLv34_Temuri Posted August 8, 2016 Posted August 8, 2016 At least i noticed a pilot had received "Captured" status on VirtualPilots' server after I recently added influence areas to the mission.
JimTM Posted August 8, 2016 Author Posted August 8, 2016 At least i noticed a pilot had received "Captured" status on VirtualPilots' server after I recently added influence areas to the mission. Do you mean that the stat under the skull and crossbones icon was incremented or was there a message like the "Emergency Landing" one after you finish a flight? Would you be able to post your mission? Thanks!
LLv34_Temuri Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 The "Captured" status is visible on the stats page: http://ts3.virtualpilots.fi:8000/en/sortie/3430/?tour=3, I don't know how it was shown in-game. Mission is here: VirtualPilotsMoscowWB.zip
LLv34_Temuri Posted August 9, 2016 Posted August 9, 2016 I actually now started thinking that is it possible to change the country of an influence area using the Behavior MCU?
JimTM Posted August 10, 2016 Author Posted August 10, 2016 Thanks! I'm doing some tests and I'll take a look at your mission.
LLv34_Temuri Posted August 30, 2016 Posted August 30, 2016 Looks like it's not possible to deactivate and activate influence areas. I need to double check the mission, though. If they can't be deactivated and activated, I need to remove all influence areas

I'll have to take a look at my previous tests based on your current impression on activating/deactivating influence areas. I had a quick look at your mission, but I'll need to investigate further. The stuff you are doing in the subtitle translators is interesting. Where does "AIRFIELD_SUBTITLE" get it's value from? UPDATE: I think I'll put this aside for now as far as my manual goes. I'd like to get it out soon at least in pre-release form and extensive testing for several topics (including influence areas) could hold it back. Please let me know if you make any new discoveries. Thanks! Edited August 30, 2016 by JimTM

The stuff you are doing in the subtitle translators is interesting. Where does "AIRFIELD_SUBTITLE" get it's value from? Those "AIRFIELD" things are replaced by the java application LLv34_Untamo made. The application does the log sniffing, record keeping, and it sends serverinput commands to close/open fields etc. accordingly. Before putting a mission into rotation, the java application picks up airfield names etc. from an XML file, and then processes the mission. So it's not dynamic
JimTM Posted August 30, 2016 Author Posted August 30, 2016 Ah, thanks. Above my abilities at the moment.
