Try as I might I can't get the throttle to work properly - it's been a bit funky with WT, DCS and so on, but I've always managed to get the response mapped out eventually. Unfortunately there seems to be limited ability to do that in IL2. The best I can get is from 0-67% throttle, and that's with the the throttle going in reverse. There is no combination of settings I can find that will get a 0-100% response. I tried re-setting the Hotas-X and that makes no difference. Any ideas ?

I had the hotas X before but didn't had this particular issue. Mine was only spicking heavily on the X axis.

Maybe a faulty potentiometer ?

I also have it and it works not perfect, but for this price definitely ok. Did you try the Windows configuration, to see if the stick working well? Did you try to unconect and reconect, I don´t know why, but sometimes this helps with problems.

1 - Try calibrate the controller in Windows Games Controller (type joy.cpl in Start box, hit Enter) following on screen instructions. Dont forget hit APPLY in the end.

A more refined cablibration can be done with DView or DXTweak2.

3 - Test under Windows Games Controller to see if work properly. If work no problem should be in games.

4 - After assign the axis in game, maybe is need play with "Senstitivity" and "Deadzones" adjust.

99,99% yes.

Possible temporary fix is disassemble the potentiometer and clean his electrical trail - videos in YT.

Good news: for one are able do make solder, replace potentiometer is simple.

Bad news: potentiometer for joystick has limited "electrical travel" 30-60º and is not find in online sellers, e.g. Digikey, Mouser...

Workaround: (no tested be me) buy a PS3 like gamepad replacement thumbstick, they have 2 potentiometer, remove from then and install in joystick, is the same type of potentiometer.

Borax, I had this exact same fault with my first TM Hotas T-flight X joystick. The advice from Thrustmaster support was to return it to the store I bought it from as it was faulty. So far I've had no issues with my replacement.

Thank you everyone for your help. I fixed it using the properties section in "USB Game Controllers" (Win 7). Finally !

Pretty happy with it generally for the money. Although my old MS Sidewinder was great back in the day, shame they got out of that business :-)
