Sketch Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 When I take rockets on my IL2, some players think I'm crazy. I feel I can do pretty good with rockets, and rockets are worth it. Let me explain - I normally take six 50kg bombs and eight 132kg rockets (and 23mm cannons). I take the 50kgs, because the 100kg bombs only gives me two bombs. If I pair the 50kgs bombs, I'll get a larger blast radius (although weaker overall), and I'll still be dropping 100kgs. This gives me one extra try versus the 100kg load out. Additionally, I get four tries with rockets (pairing them) or eight rocket tries (single fire). That's 7 targets destroyed if I fire all bombs and rockets in pairs, 11 targets destroyed if I hit each (paired) bomb drop and (single) rocket on target, or 14 targets if I fire bombs and rockets singularly. The closest load out to the six 50s and eight 132 rockets, is six 100kg bombs. With all that said, I've created a video on how to rocket properly. Enjoy! 7

pilotpierre Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Good point about one notch below the centre of the reticle. I shall give that method a burl this afternoon.
HippyDruid Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Yeah, great video. It was also short and straight to the point. Exactly how a tutorial should be. Thanks for sharing a great tip.
