I got the throttle to serve with the JU but I just sold my yoke 

But I guess I kope with my new stick . 

With 8 years experience in IL 2 modding community I just know people are going to nag about a LI 2 now  

But I really hope there will be added a purpose for JU 52 in online servers and people using it, I mostly fly Red, but this one will make me cross to the dark side

Not easy! The wings and the missing trap door behind the canopy it could be a Yak-1b for the moment but this is a "work in progress" model and we can't be sure how far the progress from this model is. Some changes to the wings add the missing trap door behind the canopy and the Yak-1b transform into a Yak-9.

Great news!!!

 

What I like most is the in-between-the-line news:

 

1. 1CGS apparently modified a bit their commercial model: Yak-1b and Ju-52 come as add-on planes but not related to a specific "Battle of X" version of the game! I do think this is a very interesting move!***
2. Related to point 1, map availability on multiplayer won't depend on the version of the game you own! Again, this is a highly awaited and unexpected move! This will "reunite" multiplayer game: you'll be able to join online fight in all case, even if you don't own the specific "Battle of X" map!
3. Related to point 1, new loadouts are coming (at least aerobatic smoke dispenser), beside the 5 original loadout/fieldmods.

I do think this is a strategic milestone you laid for further development BoS/BoM/BoX! I'm glad you did such moves as I believe these "concept changes" weren't minor details to address!

 

And so glad you already work on gunfire and campaign!

Look furhter to v.2.003 changelog!!!

 

 

EDIT: *** well, about point 1, maybe those two planes are from next theatre... I guess we'll know more about it in August!

We're going to need you guys to get behind these two new planes (especially the Ju-52) and show us we didn't waste our time.  The team is trying to be more flexible so please support such initiatives in a big way. Price has not been determined yet.

 

There are a lot of cool things being discussed internally. New theater and more will be revealed in August. I will be in Moscow week of August 8th working on the future with the team.

lol, good reaction Asgar. What an nonsense decision to make a flyable Ju-52.

Would be nice for everyone who wants to be a target. Not sure how long this plane will be flown in IL2,

until they realize that is boring. FS-X is the key for all the Ju-52 Lovers. You made my day.

Please decide to hurry up Development DX11 for VR instead of develope a flyable Ju-52.

!ATC!, Me 262, P51 and Spit 9 would also be nice.

 

Otherwise a other Simulator will rise up in WW2 Scene.

All I can say about this is that I will purchase the Ju-52 immediately when it comes out. I think you will find that it was an excellent and welcome decision to include it as flyable.

I'm neither hot nor cold about the Ju-52. Unless it's outrageously expensive (assuming it's possibly going to be sold as a stand alone), I'll add it to my game. I always liked the scenes from "Where Eagles Dare" of it flying at night anyway. Wish we had some real mountains to cavort in and around with it though.

I'm not a Luftwaffe guy as I find it mostly boring but I'll just buy the planes anyway, on one side to support the devs and on the other side the Ju 52 will surely be fun to fly around and also do silly stuff with.

 

Btw: I'm all in for a Li-2 (DC-3) !!

I can see a lot of purpose for those planes in a combat flight sim too and don't think that it should just be part of a civil sim.

Sorry guys no win for you. When you look at the small circles on the wings near the fuselage in the top view, you can see they a bit more to the rear at the Yak-1b and a bit more to the front at the Yak-9, like in the models view. It is the Yak-9.

BTW, I am looking very much forward for the improvements of the campaign, especially being able to fly BOS with the 110 and 88.+

Oooops, nope, the air inlets under the engine and at the wingroot say clearly Yak-1b.еру 

The very shape of the wing definetly tells it's a Yak-1B. ...and also the position oh ANL.

This game has been one of my favorite since I preordered BOS. I can't wait to fly the Yak 1b and the Ju 52. I hope the supply missions will be back on the servers. My sqaudron had so much fun on the Eagles nest server back then. I hope those supply missions will be back. 

 

And such great news that the team will announce a new theater in August. Whatever it will be I am ready to preorder, as I have done with BOS and BOM.

Looking at this thread, it seems like Ju-52 will be more popular than the Fw-190 

I am really glad that so many people are positive about such a plane!

This is excellent news. Many AAA games with thousands of players have suffered community segmentation due map availability (Battlefield 4). Great the IL-2 will not be one of them!

 

Aircraft availability across theatres is just as surprising and welcome! I will buy the new planes to fund planned improvements.

Great news. I do hope the Ju52 efforts will be well received. It's popularity will be dependent on the MP servers (and weekend Air Wars) having specific mission sets for it. 

 

 

Interesting. I'd imagine that accompanying the Yak-1b would be a comparable German fighter for 43/44. 109G-6 and/or 190A-5? A G6 without the ata limitations of the G-2 would be a nice match-up vs the Yak-1b. Or else it would be rather silly seeing all the 109F-4s in 43/44 scenarios.

 

Also very happy to see the game itself being improved. Adding content, and fixing bugs. Keep it up! 

 

It showed up at the end of the Stalingrad battle so fighting the Bf109F-4 and G-2 in early 1943 is totally acceptable. Both of those 109s can definitely compete on an even level with the 1B. Its really not that different than the Series 69 model.

 

I can't imagine they would stop with the 1B so I'm guessing we'll see an uprated G-2 or a early version of the G-6 (which in some ways is a downgrade) and the FW190A-5 too. Should be fun :D

Put me down for a JU52!  Exciting update, looking forward to the expanded mission possibilities this aircraft will provide.

Depending on exactly what they do with it. Same engine as our Yak-1 Series 69 with better rear visibility thanks to the cut down fuselage and greater firepower with the twin 7.62mm ShKAS machine guns removed and a single UBS 12.7mm heavy machine gun installed.

 

Not sure if any weight is shaved off in this version or not.

 

The Yak-1B served in 1943 and 1944 mostly and a lot of Russian pilots really preferred this version even over subsequent versions.

 

 

The aircraft also has a bubble canopy to match the cut fuselage, and I think it should be a bit heavier as it has extra armour.

It should be faster though, its "aerodynamically sealed", it has better engine cooling, and it's stick is based off the 109's.

Regarding pt.1...

 

This is not new - only new for BOS/BOM.

In Rise of Flight it worked the same - ne maps with new content, but also a lot of individual aircraft to buy along the line.

What we still miss to see in BOS/BOM compared to ROF are weapons/equipment mod packages for each aircraft ie. new weapons, different engines etc.

Definitely going to be my favourite patch, with more performance upgrades, some long-awaited weapon sound upgrades, flyable Ju-52 and a very nice new Yak, and aerobatic smoke, there really is no contest!  Hopefully they'll sound sort of like this:

The addition of aerobatic smoke is yet another component that will remind me of the original IL-2, and in this case, for the better.

 

 

If these aircraft are going to be related to the next theater, what is the theater going to likely be?
