Jason_Williams Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Great news, thanks team. A question about the smoke - will it react to wind, including aircraft generated winds like propwash? I'll give the usual Russian answer even though I am not Russian. You want smoke simulator or flight simulator? We're going to need you guys to get behind these two new planes (especially the Ju-52) and show us we didn't waste our time. The team is trying to be more flexible so please support such initiatives in a big way. Price has not been determined yet. There are a lot of cool things being discussed internally. New theater and more will be revealed in August. I will be in Moscow week of August 8th working on the future with the team. Jason 31

I'll support the Ju 52, I'm really looking forward to it. Given the current flight models, I'm not interested in the Yak. 1
6./ZG26_McKvack Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) Can someone teach me about the Yak-1B and compare it with the current planes. My knowledge is really bad with Russian fighters. Did you guys decide to create the Ju 52 because of all the support on the forum or more of an intern thing? 1 thing is for sure, I will buy one as soon it pops out and I am sure the rest of my squadron and many here will do as well I just hope we will see official support of supplies in the game to resupply airfields and so on. Maybe even be able to drop supplies by chutes to ground troops and airfields ofc. Transport mission in the campaign would also be interesting in bad weather where the hardest part will be navigation Edited July 28, 2016 by 6./ZG26_McKvack 1

Jason; last time you visited Moscow was in RoF days and you brought back a great report and pictures of the team. Looking forward to reading something similar in the fall . II/JG17_HerrMurf Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I wont fly either but I'll buy both. Probably gift a couple as well if the timing and finances are right.
SCG_Space_Ghost Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Incredible news. I am very thankful that the team finally decided to pursue the Ju52. I'm very interested in supporting the future of this product and I'm excited to see what comes in mid-late August.

RoteDreizehn Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) lol, good reaction Asgar. What an nonsense decision to make a flyable Ju-52. Would be nice for everyone who wants to be a target. Not sure how long this plane will be flown in IL2, until they realize that is boring. FS-X is the key for all the Ju-52 Lovers. You made my day. @777 Please decide to hurry up Development DX11 for VR instead of develope a flyable Ju-52. !ATC!, Me 262, P51 and Spit 9 would also be nice. Otherwise a other Simulator will rise up in WW2 Scene. A flyable Ju-52! Can't hold back my tears of joy! Edited July 28, 2016 by RoteDreizehn
ShamrockOneFive Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Can someone teach me about the Yak-1B and compare it with the current planes. My knowledge is really bad with Russian fighters. Depending on exactly what they do with it. Same engine as our Yak-1 Series 69 with better rear visibility thanks to the cut down fuselage and greater firepower with the twin 7.62mm ShKAS machine guns removed and a single UBS 12.7mm heavy machine gun installed. Not sure if any weight is shaved off in this version or not. The Yak-1B served in 1943 and 1944 mostly and a lot of Russian pilots really preferred this version even over subsequent versions.
T_oll Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 TANTE JUUUUUU!!!!!!!! And I just finished my TWIN throttle... Doh! ;-) 3

[CPT]milopugdog Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I've found a huge desk for my room, and the Ju-52 is going to be flyable? Does anyone know of a good yoke I could buy?

Voidhunger Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Improving campaign is a good thing but we need some personal improvements like creating a pilot with a name, photo, historical awards and victories for each pilot. Without it its really useless. Anyway thanks for the news.
ITAF_Rani Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Ju 52???? I get real temptation in future to fly this bird to supply troopers in tournaments... Great update Thanks Developers
Livai Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 And here comes the Yak-9 what was able to outfly the eternal Me109G , which it met over Stalingrad in late November 1942.
LLv34_Untamo Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) S! Excellent news! We well put the Ju-52 in use on our server (VirtualPilots - Warbirds) immediately, and it will have the most important role too (capturing airfields)! ... Can we have Fallschirmjäger plz!? 1CGS BlackSix Posted July 28, 2016 1CGS Posted July 28, 2016 Has it been confirmed that it is a Yak 1b or a Yak 9? Yak-1b: Yak-9: Our model: Can you choose the correct answer? 7
ShamrockOneFive Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) Has it been confirmed that it is a Yak 1b or a Yak 9? Cheers Dakpilot I spent probably 20 minutes looking at it and some references and while the angles they give us make the ID of it difficult... I'm 90% sure its a Yak-1B. Look at the leading edge of the wing where it meets the fuselage. The Yak-9 series has large squared off intakes there on both sides that push the edge out a bit further. The Yak-1 has a much smaller circular opening on the port side only. Yak-1b: yak1b-1.gif Yak-9: yak9-1.gif Our model: post-19-0-55785700-1469712945.jpg post-19-0-56764400-1469712948.jpg Can you choose the correct answer? Do I win? :D :D :D Edited July 28, 2016 by ShamrockOneFive
JG13_opcode Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 It's clearly a 1b, note the asymmetrical intakes on the wing root leading edge. 2
RoteDreizehn Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 I meant this post in general. Not that 3ds Artists should change their passion. Really surprised about a flyable JU52 without content which can be carry with it.For mission design a AI JU52 will be enough, which are protected by multiplayer fighter.AI JU52´s can also land on destination airfield. If you can protect the JU52´s you willreach the mission goal. Not sure what it will bring, if you can fly it. Ha! I just imagine how someone who spent his carreer in 3ds Max modeling planes will now move to C++ to solve DX 11 issue... very effective :-D I'm sure I will fly Ju-52 and hope it become supply plane and DED server. Really looking forward to!
StG77_Kondor Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Great news. I do hope the Ju52 efforts will be well received. It's popularity will be dependent on the MP servers (and weekend Air Wars) having specific mission sets for it. The Yak-1B served in 1943 and 1944 mostly and a lot of Russian pilots really preferred this version even over subsequent versions. Interesting. I'd imagine that accompanying the Yak-1b would be a comparable German fighter for 43/44. 109G-6 and/or 190A-5? A G6 without the ata limitations of the G-2 would be a nice match-up vs the Yak-1b. Or else it would be rather silly seeing all the 109F-4s in 43/44 scenarios. Also very happy to see the game itself being improved. Adding content, and fixing bugs. Keep it up!

JG5_Schuck Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) Awesome news, Especially the Ju52. (that should keep 5tuka happy for a while! ) We just need an Li-2 for the VVS to use for transport flights and it will make for great fun doing supply runs! And a Yak 1B (im sure it is, although wouldn't a 7B or a 9 be more relevent to the time period?) should give us 109 jocks something to keep an eye out for! The smoke looks amazing..... Just one question, along with the implementation of DX11 does that means we can have exhaust fumes/smoke now? Please............ Keep up the good work guys, its much appreciated (by most of us). Edited July 28, 2016 by JG5_Schuck
VBF-12_Stick-95 Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 Ya, we all KNOW it's a 1b. The question is, is the other plane a Ford Trimotor?
Yogiflight Posted July 28, 2016 Posted July 28, 2016 (edited) Sorry guys no win for you. When you look at the small circles on the wings near the fuselage in the top view, you can see they a bit more to the rear at the Yak-1b and a bit more to the front at the Yak-9, like in the models view. It is the Yak-9. BTW, I am looking very much forward for the improvements of the campaign, especially being able to fly BOS with the 110 and 88.+ Oooops, nope, the air inlets under the engine and at the wingroot say clearly Yak-1b.
