SCG_motoadve Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 Wish to remove other sounds (exterior engine sound of other plane when near mine, exterior machine gun sounds when a plane shooting near mine). Cannot find those sounds though , so anyone knows where are located?

AndyJWest Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 You say you want to 'remove' sounds that alert you to the presence of enemy aircraft? Sorry, but I find that somewhat implausible. 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 To give a constructive answer, you can't because the environment sounds are off-limits to users. While you would get better performance (seeing that your PC is running at its limit) by removing the sounds, if the sounds were made available people would use that to cheat. For example, a LaGG-3 pilot could remove the sound of the M-105 and wind but keep the DB 601 sounds. That way they would be flying through a vacuum with open cockpit and immediately be alerted to the presence of enemy aircraft within hearing range. 1
SCG_motoadve Posted July 25, 2016 Author Posted July 25, 2016 In real life you cannot hear other airplane flying near you, I have done formation flying , very close. I only play offline though. Its only microstutters I have, fps are good. And happened at every radio chat. Computer is not thaaat bad. Windows 7 64bit 16 GB RAM Intel i7 4770 GTX 780 Ti
JG13_opcode Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 They're probably in the big .fsb library files under data/Audio in the main game directory. You can unpack them with something like this: https://github.com/gdawg/fsbext

Windows 7 64bit 16 GB RAM Intel i7 4770 GTX 780 Ti nice rig, usually sounds stuttering you might want to see what kind of sound drivers your running, all so your HHD if running 5200 rpm Drive, opposed to a 7200, 10,000 rpm drive and SSD if you have one something is bottle-necking you. bios updated for your mobo?, I just recently lost 3 HHD 1.5 TB each hard drives; all at the same time, and was getting micro stutters before they went. and the stupid Smart drive windows system didn't tell me shit but the hhd were still good when they went.
6./ZG26_5tuka Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 Short answer is you can't. Long answer is that any sounds apart the radio are packed in fsb filed and coded via FMod. You can easily extract those using said tool but not repack, means you have to rebuild the entire sound engine of the game yourself to make changes. The alternative is to set audio quality to low, which will reduce the memory of the sound files and shorten the loading times ingame.
