dburne Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 (edited) I may be a little confused here. Keep in mind, I am not available on Tues-Thurs to be able to participate in the limited access, I guess when they open it up to weekends I then will be able to do so. So anyway, I thought I would at least go ahead and get the thing installed. So I downloaded the setup file ( app 335mb) and ran it, which installed an icon on my desktop for IL-2 Sturmovick. I double click the icon, and it says it can not find disc 2. It asks me to browse, I point it to launcher and get the can not connect message. So then I can not get the rest of the sim installed unless they have the lights turned on? Or is this 335 mb file the whole first alpha release, I was thinking it was considerably larger? I have looked through the announcements and do not see clarification on this. I just thought I would have it installed and ready for whenever I am able to participate ? JaMz Posted November 23, 2013 Posted November 23, 2013 Lol....again, You have the launcher mate and nothing more...now considering you update that with 'game' files which are the same files they are 'working' on and 'adding' too so we have our new 'updated' files for next week. (109,AI,fixes,tweake) So with all this in mind Id say its the reason you cannot 'add' these files to your install just yet
dburne Posted November 23, 2013 Author Posted November 23, 2013 (edited) The 335Mb file is the launcher. After you run it, you download the game files (2.5Gb-ish last week) so the content servers must currently be disabled if you're unable to download the rest. Thanks for the very helpful response Extreme, I appreciate it. So that being the case sounds like I should not worry with it then until such time as this early access is opened up to where I can participate. I was thinking that I could go ahead and install everything and updates would just be pushed out similar to ROF. Thanks, Edited November 23, 2013 by dburnette 1

I thought I can at least install the "Base-Game"-Alpha on the weekend, to be able to update and play, whenever I might get a chance during the Tuesday to Thursday periods. But no such luck unfortunately! I just hope I get a decent download rate for the "big chunk" once I have time, because if the download rate I had for the 335MB-Installer is any indication, it could be quite frustrating.
