Sokol1 Posted May 17, 2017 Posted May 17, 2017 Curiosity about the use of "KG-12/13" grips in Russian planes (capitanblood research): One would expect it to be based on the study of captured airplanes, but seems this happen due collaboration agreements before war, with Germans send for their future enemy samples of their aircraft production - bought with money lend by Germans. "On the recommendation of the delegation visited Germany in early 1940 by the People's Commissariat of Foreign Trade was issued an order for German planes and equipment for a detailed study of them in our country. It contained more than 100 items. In particular, on the aircraft was supposed to buy 5 copies. 5 He 100 with a steam-cooled engine, 5 He 100 with a conventional water-cooled engine, 5 Bf 109E, 2 Bf 110C, 3 bomber Ju 88, 3 Do 215, Byukker Bu 131 "Jungmann", Bu 133 "Yungmayster" Fw 58, Me 109 recorde plane, 2 helicopter Fw 226."

J2_Steve Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 So I proceeded with purchasing the KG13 from Cheb, based on this thread. Cheb's comms where great and instilled confidence in this product. I ordered the stick and made a paypal payment to Cheb last Monday, it took 7 days to get from Russia to London, which is pretty good going all things considered. Also worth a mention is that Cheb refused to draw the cash on his paypal account until I had confirmed I had received the stick. Also offering a full refund if I was not satisfied in anyway (as if!!!) My first impressions are that I'm blown away by the quality and feel of this grip. Really feels great. The switches are reproductions of the original and feel very mechanical as opposed to a computer touch button feel that we are used to on a computer flight stick. There is a reassuring click when a button is pressed, adding to the authentic feeling and adding to immersion. Holding it in the hand it really is something to admire, a real piece of flight sim art Here is shot of the stick in my "pit" complimenting my Slaw 109 pedals nicely The sad thing now is that I'm about to go off on Holiday for 2 weeks, so wont get to use it properly for a little while. Once I have a bit more time on the stick, I will follow up with another post with my impressions after using it for a while.
XwhiskeysX Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 Would absolutely love to buy the Warthog compatible KG13 for use with my new VPC base and mount. Anymore available?
Cheb2006 Posted September 1, 2017 Author Posted September 1, 2017 (edited) Would absolutely love to buy the Warthog compatible KG13 for use with my new VPC base and mount. Anymore available? Not available yet. I spent all last month to make gyroplane (autogyro) version for my friend and some spares for my mig-15 grip. But we will make more KGs later. Edited September 1, 2017 by Cheb2006
XwhiskeysX Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 So dumb question, what's the difference between KG13 and the Mig grip? I use a VKB Gladiator Pro for my Bf109, FW190, and Mig 15 mods. Your stuff looks amazing by the way, can't wait to get my hands on one. :-) Cheers, Jess

Your stuff looks amazing by the way, can't wait to get my hands on one. :-) Cheers, Jess There is no difference in principal, bot there are some differencece in details. KG 12/13 was made by different factory has differeant head shapes. KGs of the end of the war are very close to MIGs grips. It will be better to say, that MIGs grips close to the last KGs. Old KGs had more fine shaped forms, but MIGs are more rought. Differend diametres of fixing screwes, and as result, a little bit different wihdths for places for them. Germans never used 20mm collets for 18mm buttons, but Russians did it.. Any way, in hand it's the same. Side button holders, fire triggr, spring and electrical cap are made by me and Sergey. SCG_Fenris_Wolf Posted September 19, 2017 Posted September 19, 2017 Of course, that's what he needs the trigger and rocket-release buttons for!!
XwhiskeysX Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 (edited) My KG13 just arrived today, and I must echo the thoughts of others and add my own opinions: First and foremost, I have never experienced a level of customer service than I did with Paul. The EMS (through no fault of him) took awhile to get through customs and to America, however he was calling them himself trying to run it down and kept sending me updates. He didn't withdraw the money in fear the package was lost, and even offered to give some money back due to the delay. Don't worry about that, I am more than pleased. Top Notch communication and fidelity sir! The stick itself - It looks like he literally took it out of a brand new Mig 15 and put a Thrustmaster adaptor on it. The quality is second to none, the button presses feel like the real thing and although TM, VKB and VPC make good products, this stick is on another playing field. I cannot wait to put this into my VPC base and take-off. Pictures to follow once I get on island Monday evening. Thanks again Paul, you hit this one out of the park. AV8R Posted October 22, 2017 Posted October 22, 2017 The KG13 looks nice! Im curious, any interest in making a MiG29 or Su27/33 grip for the Cougar/Warthog?
