Invisible building

I was flying in a Yak on WOL.  I was strafing a warehouse area, specifically a truck, when I exploded in mid air about 30 meters off the ground.  All AA was down so I know this did not kill me.  I had a similar experience a while ago running into an "invisible" chimney that was left from a destroyed industrial facility (fixed I believe).  I went back to the warehouse area in an IL-2.  I identified the truck I was previously shooting at and it was still undamaged.  I came in for a similar approach to see what would happen.  I again exploded in mid air.  This time however a building (the big white one in the screenshot below) appeared.  Unfortunately I did not record this.  I then took another IL-2 to check it out.  The destroyed building object was visible when I arrived.

 

My theory is that for whatever reason I could not see the normal object.  After I ran into it a second time it became destroyed and the object changed and I was able to see it.
