Is there somewhere I can get good dog fighting tips?  Like how to get behind an enemy?  All I find myself doing is constantly circling with the enemy.

If you find yourself in a horizontal "turning" fight the best option is to change your position vertically.  Very generally speaking, if you are in any BF-109 you can escape your Russian opponent by performing a climbing turn.  If you find yourself in a situation with less energy than your opponent, your best bet will be to roll suddenly to one side and dive away.  In general, aircraft that perform poorly while turning are better at diving, and visa versa.  If you find yourself in a situation where you are losing the turning the fight, the last thing you want to do is keep up the turn. Combining vertical maneuvers with turn fighting will force your opponent to break out of their tight turn, which may give either you or them the advantage.

This site has some interesting information on dog fighting, I would recommend reading the "T&B Fighting" section: http://lerch.no-ip.com/NDM/Film.HTML/ACM.html#6

Grt M,

There are a few extra hidden characters at the end of your link (%C2%A0) that result in "This channel does not exist". Here is a good link.

Requiem also has some good RoF videos that explain air combat tactics and air combat maneuvering. These principles also apply to WWII flying.

Cheers!

Honestly your focus should be defensive first. Boom N Zoom is your best bet initially. It affords you opportunities to get kills and escape. Work into the dogfighting aspect slowly as you build your piloting and gunnery skills. Remember the really good online dogfighters likely suffered hundreds of virtual deaths on their way to some pretty amazing skill sets. They were all noobs at some point as well.
