Failed to get latest version???

Sorry to bother you guys. I got a bit of problem.

I have been checking with the game launcher regularly to see if there is an update.

But today, it keeps telling me failed to get latest version for some reason.

 

[06:30:44] Checking for updates
[06:30:46] Failed to get latest version

 

Does anyone know how to fix this, please??

Not sure, but my guess is, that the next version is already implemented on the server, but we are not yet authorized to download it.

Same her. Just DL'd the game and it wont launch - just get that message after I run the EXE file post-install.

The server is now down until next Tuesday, so testing is over..

 

I guess they are adding stuff as we speak to the game files hence why your not updating atm....only a guess

I'm also unable to update the software.

Sadly also unable to play the game at all.

 

I am also a real world pilot, having first soloed Cessna 172 CF-KIC in 1959.

My avatar is of myself at the controls of a small 2 place pusher aeroplane that resides in my hangar.

 

Taidraggers are my favourites. This is my single place Bushmaster aircraft.

 

 

The feel of the Sim is very good overall. I do not yet have enough stick time in the Lagg-3 to really get the feel of it.

 

And now no Lagg-3 stick time at all.

 

P.S. Real Pilots love Taildraggers in general, and Round engined Taildraggers in particular.

As of today, Friday, the game is no longer available to you till the next session; meanwhile we’re analyzing the received data and feedback and preparing for the next session that is scheduled to November 26^th-28^th. Next week you are going to meet Bf-109 F-4, the German fighter that is often called one of the best aircraft in the Messerschmitt family. The plane indeed has outstanding combat features and it’s quite more responsive to controls than LaGG-3. Well, you’ll learn it by yourselves pretty soon; I don’t want to give too many spoilers now.

When I run the Launcher as you describe, I get the following error message.

 

"[14:13:01] Checking for updates

[14:13:03] Failed to get latest version"

Exactly, that is what everybody was saying :O) and it wont be available untill probably Tuesday morning/ Monday morning late.

Anticipating is pretty much useless anyway 'cause next 76 hour access only starts again on Tuesday morning.

Read your updates pleas, that is if your edited your profile to receive news.

1. The game might not work immediately after the buy - would have saved me a few hours of frustration.

Yes, I see it now, but I only scrolled down to the big red BUY button and clicked that. The other text wasn't on my screen because it's below the BUY button... I guess a lot of buyers will make the same mistake. They should put the limitations in red ABOVE the buy button. Just a website layout thing. Back to CoD for me, which I also love!

Why not invest in a PROPER message in the log in screen rather than expect us all to have read the dev blog or have found the updates on the website.

 

World of Tanks and Warthunder both manage to do it so you know the problem is at their end and not at yours!!  Just a suggestion. Back to RoF now....

I agree, it would really help the newcomers - and apparently there are quite a few - know what to expect and how to get it going. Folks need to remember, these newer participants have not been reading/following this forum for the last several months as many of us have, and it is all new to them and the information that is there is not that easy to understand/follow.

 

I cringe when I see someone criticize a newer member for not knowing what to the experienced here is obvious, because it just is not obvious to the new member.

While I can appreciate someone not reading everything that is posted here, if someone is plunking down their cash as this point, it is in their best interest to either read up or ask questions before purchase. It is buyer beware after all.

Which doesn't mean they are going to and the devs shouldn't be expecting people to do so. The participation time should be made clear to avoid confusion for people who have stumbled upon BOS, like the look of it and buy straight up. Pretty simple!

Agreed. Pay money, anticipate release date, cant play. Who woulda thought.

 

Dont suppose an offline ability is possible? Would provide pilots more time to provide feedback during update processes.
