xThrottle_Geek Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 Apologies if this is in the forums somewhere. A search only turned up a discussion about turning the HUD tech icons off/on server side. Does anyone know of a way to KEEP the tech icons but TURN OFF the accompanying text info? I would love a HUD with ONLY the icons and the chat. Anyone? Regards xThrottle Geek
[CPT]milopugdog Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 From the menu screen: Settings -> Flight Interface -> Set In-game messages to off
xThrottle_Geek Posted July 7, 2016 Author Posted July 7, 2016 I saw that. But I still would like the icons, just not the text that shows up with the icons.
-TBC-AeroAce Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 (edited) I would really like a much more customiseable "normal settings", such as same colour icons, reduced visibility of icons, smaller size not text apart from a dot, complex engine management with icons............. but every time this convo comes up I get told to go fly hardcore, even though I do and are often in the top 100 on WOL!!! GO fiGure hardcore snobs dont understand that it may be fun to jump in on a icon server once in a while Edited July 7, 2016 by AeroACE
seafireliv Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 I also would like the ability to have Technochat icons without the text (just the icon and the XX% for flaps, radiators etc. for example). On one hand, yeah it's less realistic to have Technochat but on other hand in real life we'd have the actual levers to interact with instead of keys and would not necessarily look around the cockpit to discern the status all of this stuff. Having just the icon and % would be less intrusive and still mimic the kind of tactile feedback we'd have without looking inside the cockpit. Sounds like a good item for the 'suggestion' thread! I keep forgetting to switch that mode off and the most annoying part is when it keeps telling me how to land when i`m actually doing fine- Takes my eyes away from the runway. Same on rolling to take off. I`ll make sure I disable it on my next flight. If you have a quadrant throttle set up then you have the controls and it`s a lot easier to remember stuff, also I enjoy looking at the cockpoit gauges, just put the `view gauges on a button you can reach quick, but I can understand if people don`t want to do all that.
