CisTer-dB- Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 (edited) Hi I have shutter and low frame per second I have a GTX 1080. Bellow are my settings and a quick mission I made at a low resolution (1080) so you can imagine how it is at my native resolution of 4K. It is not smooth and even with a GTX 1080 @ 1920x1080 I can barely have 35 fps on a fur ball. Please guys something need to be done in that regards. Thanks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KsomUCSzZzg Edited July 3, 2016 by ATAG_dB
SharpeXB Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 If I understand how BoS is, performance in "furball" situations are going to be limited by your CPU rather than GPU I ran some tests a while back with 2160p and one vs two Titan X cards. In the furball scenario SLI had no benefit. But in a free flight it did. That leads me to believe it's the CPU limiting the frame rate, physics, AI, drawings objects etc. I used to run on a i7-3770K but had it overclocked to 4.7 GHz so it's performance was equal to a stock 4790K But turning off the o.c. when it became unstable fairly killed it's performance. Perhaps try overclocking your CPU. I'm no expert on how to do that but I'm sure someone else here is. I don't know if 4K vs 1080p makes any difference to the CPU load but it would be easy enough to test.
CisTer-dB- Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 (edited) I am studying the possibility to OC my CPU but that doesn't deal with the fact that this game perform very poorly. LOW or Ultra with a resolution of 1080 or 4K it only marginally change the performance. This is a shame and not acknowledging that there is a problem makes me think that no one really care. I have kept tuning and upgrading my rig naively thinking that it would fix my problem when obviously I was wrong. I like you have stable 50 FPS flying alone in in single engine plane at 5K but every time there an explosion, smoke or someone shooting it become very bad, this is a combat game not a flight simulator. Having to OC my rig is only a band aid solution, decision and fixing need to be done, there is no excuse with a rig like mine with a new game like BoS to perform so poorly. Rant off Edited July 2, 2016 by ATAG_dB
SharpeXB Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 I know they've mentioned improving game performance and the thing they mention is physics. That's a clue to where the bottleneck is. Some ideas were only using the full flight model physics for nearby aircraft etc.
LLv24_Zami Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 I have no problems like this, very smooth in every situation. 2.002 patch improved performance even further, especially on ground. I use full settings, 4xAA. I have 6700k@4.6GHz and 970 sli and my resolution is 3440x1440. So I think there might be some other problem. I assume you have tried the basic stuff already like reinstall the game? It helped me sometimes considerably when suffered stuttering.

1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 I have 4,5 Ghz OC Intel i5 with Nvidia duble gpu GTX690 in SLI and when it comes to some intensiv (in this game standard) action my fps are reduced to 30 or less. It's frustrating how this game behaves when there is more that few AI in action. In multiplayer situation when there is attack on air fields and aaa is shoting to 2 enemy planes and there is also 3-4 frendly planes in vicinity. Same is in single player when ther is multiple AI planes, ground and water units... game is crawling mercilessly. it's high time when devs should do something about it.
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 turn off the high quality, put it just on quality and also LOD clamp. V-sync to =1 http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/22623-mastiffs-set-and-settings/
1PL-Husar-1Esk Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 (edited) turn off the high quality, put it just on quality and also LOD clamp. V-sync to =1 http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/22623-mastiffs-set-and-settings/ Thanks, this are gpu related advices but this won't help for cpu related issues (AI). I watch my gpus and they are just fine utilised at less than 40 % in high intensive actions. BTW i have it on performance and clamp on, i don't use v-sync becouse i have 120hz monitor. ps. time to go for 5ghz lol or just buy new Skylake cpu (same clocks but more IPC). GrendelsDad Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 Not trying to big league anyone here...the only overlay I can run is fraps...mis afterburner, Riva tuner and others cut my frames in half...I was getting 30fps on ground and 50-60 in air with AMD 965 overclocked I believe maybe some kind of monitoring software may be causing issues. Now I have 6700k and 2x980sli. Just seems strange I can have 8vs8 and stay above 50 fps in all situations.(8 he111s will bring it into the 40s if all 8 are on the screen at once.) @6200x2160 resolution. Ultra w/ssao off. Just make sure no monitoring software is running. Hope this helps someone.
KoN_ Posted July 13, 2016 Posted July 13, 2016 Try Nvidia inspector . Looking at some peoples system specs `dam wish i had the same ..lol Some of you can run a NASA space program . lol . let alone BOS . i always find the ground is washed out , i even fly straight over ground targets with out even seeing them . i hope they convert too BOM map textures .
CisTer-dB- Posted July 13, 2016 Author Posted July 13, 2016 Thank you guys for the OC fix I did crank it to 4.5 Ghz and it improved my FPS on the deck. I now have a solid 60 across the board and it make it smoother o7 to you all
