Type of improvement: Historical accuracy.Explanation of proposals: Currently the grass level on aprons and taxiways is too high. On a fighter it reaches the wings and in some cases is higher, on a bomber it can reach the nacelles. For skinning purposes I have reviewed many photographs in books and on-line of Russian aircraft at airfields and I have noticed that the grass level in the overwhelming majority is at the mid of the aircraft wheel, a few to the top of the wheel. I propose that the height of the grass around aprons and along taxiways be cut to the level of the top of say an LaGG-3 wheel. The current height is probably right for open fields away from airfields where tanks would roam, etc. but airfields were very busy places with many personnel, vehicles and aircraft tromping down the grass.Benefits: More historically accurate screenshots and videos of aircraft at the airfields. Finding (and staying on) the taxi-way without using the external camera is a pain in the butt. Or at least put some sort of markers on the sides of the taxi-way so that it's a bit easier to see where you're supposed to be going.. S.

The Game has Problems if there a many objekts and polygons. One of the reason is dx9 limitations. I Personaly dislike also the grass hight on the arifields. But in the fields the hight is OK. From joining the Server, roll on the Taxiway and start i have very low FPS arround 16-24. At start flying at a hight of arround 50m when the grasses gets blendet out it runs with 47-78 FPS so the grasses take a lot of FPS. I dont know if "cuting" the grass hight on and arround the airfields gets better fps but it would look much more lealistic.

1Sascha Posted July 8, 2016 Posted July 8, 2016 I just did a couple of Panzer-missions and the grass height looks really ridiculous in those. Basically, the grass goes up nearly to the bottom of the turret of the Panzer III, so that's like, what? .. 1 to 1.5 meters of height perhaps? Plus the limited render-range of the grass really shows when you're driving around on the ground. I *guess* it renders in a circle around you with a diameter of 50, maybe 100 meters. Beyond that, the terrain looks clear until you get closer and see there's more grass coming your way. Yeah: I know player controlled tanks aren't at the core of this game, but since the grass is also a bit weird on those makeshift airfields, I think it should at least get a slight "trim". Better still: Also either up the draw-distance for it or (like I suggested earlier) put some sort of markers on the AFs to help pilots stay on the taxi-way and find the runway more easily.
