Shatter12 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Hello, I haven't bought IL2 BoS/BoM yet, but I was going through their list, etc. and noticed by system specs are slightly below their system requirements. Will mine still work? Mine is: I5 @ 2.23 GHZ (Unsure of type), ATI Radeon 5000 HD, 1GB VRAM and 4GB DDR3 (1033 MHZ I think), It's a Toshiba Satelitte from ~2010/2011. Thanks in advance . I'm not asking for this to turn IL2 BoS at maximum settings, but would it be playable at low settings with all of the settings either turned down, off or to a balanced graphical settings? I'm hoping for 25 FPS+. And is a Joystick, Pedals and Track IR needed, or will a mouse work? Thanks! Shatter12
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I'm running it on low with a Q8200 (2.33GHz), a 1GB GT120, and 5GB of DDR2 RAM. On the ground performance is kind of atrocious, but once I take off I get a solid 30 FPS. Not sure how feasible is mouse control, I'd recommend getting a stick with twist grip or a similar solution for starters. I'm using the Thrustmaster T.Flight HOTAS and I'm very happy with it so far.

I think I might go and get a joy stick (had my eye on a T16000M for a while now), but I'm trying to get a new PC soonTM, taking DirectX 9 into consideration (I.e. I7 6700, and a 390 or a 480 depending on how much the 8GB VRAM costs as it came out today - or at least came out from NDA). Do you play in Multiplayer or Single player? I know that single player takes less stress on the system then multiplayer. I'm curious as to see how my system compares to yours.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Upgrading is the right way to go, I'm doing that myself (but going with NVidia instead). Single player is more demanding on my end because the AI can really hog up the CPU, whereas in MP I get good FPS even when flying over a bomber formation.

Single player is more demanding on my end because the AI can really hog up the CPU, whereas in MP I get good FPS even when flying over a bomber formation. I'm still curious as to see if my aircraft is as good, or better then yours as I want some (finally) manageable FPS . What FPS do you normally get on takeoff, 100 metres (300 feet) and at 4km (13000 feet?( in Multiplayer (WoL)? Thanks! I'm currently looking for something along the lines of this: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/JPCtJV With the 390 interchangeable with the 480 as the 480 is cheaper for better performance. 216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 On the ground it's stuff of 10-15 FPS, a nightmare. At 100m it goes up to 25, and at 4000m it's a smooth 30. I'm no hardware expert so I'll let those help you with this, but from the little I know this rig looks solid

I wonder how my rig compares to yours, and if it's any better :dntknw:.
