Smouch Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 I was wondering with my rigs specs (check below my signature) is it worth turning the SSAO off in game? A new rig might still be further down the track. Thoughts would be appreciated ~S~
TG-55Panthercules Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 I always turn it off just 'cause I don't like the way it looks with it on, but it may just be personal preference. I'd suggest that you just turn it off for a while and see if you like it better (or it works better) with or without it - you can always just turn it back on if turning it off doesn't do anything for you.
Picchio Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 (edited) No, because its implementation is ugly. Both technically and aesthetically. Edited June 26, 2016 by Picchio
9./JG27golani79 Posted June 26, 2016 Posted June 26, 2016 I´d say just turn it off - it doesn´t look that good. Not sure on the performance impact in BoS though - just try it out.
71st_AH_Mastiff Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 SSAO looks good on the cockpit shadows, the HDR is what makes the Gama higher.
GrendelsDad Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 SSAO takes 10-15 fps off...not worth it for me. It does however make the cockpit shadows look nice just not worth the fps loss.
Smouch Posted July 3, 2016 Author Posted July 3, 2016 Yeah I have turned SSAO and HDR off as well. Looks a lot better to my eyes. Not sure if it makes any difference with HDR, but my monitor is calibrated by Spyder software for photo editing. See you in the skies ~S~
