Nocke,  there is also 1 Peshka available still.

Feel free to join our bombing raids if you like....

Thank you for the friendly invitation, Bladebender! But it seems we are going to have a sort of family meeting with the IL2s, I will try to join that.

Just a heads up.

Nice pics and well flown mission folks.

Visibly pleasing mission with the interesting cloud formations and morning light.

With the weather front moving in sets up an interesting scenario for the next one.

@happy_meal.

That would be a player using VR with the "Friendly Fire".

Seeing-eye Shih Tzu and Chihuahua puppies are being trained by both sides to ride along for aircraft identification.

Enjoyed last night's mission - especially as I stayed alive  .

First trip out attacked some torpedo boats...

JThn4dl.jpg

Second trip out got oil on the windscreen in the first pass but still had time to go for some buildings...

K3byeb5.jpg

...before the inevitable...

XkX7OIw.jpg

After a short break respawned for another attack only to find three of these camping high above our airfield and immediate vicinity...

OpFQTqo.jpg

...so I hung about for around 15 minutes not feeling safe to take off until Lucas and Jizzo chased them away, which allowed our low-on-fuel Il-2s - who'd been circling out of the way - to finally land.

By this time it was too late for another attack on the ships etc so we transferred four nice shiny Il-2s to a forward airfield.

Job done! Cheers.

Enjoyable mission :)

Me and Alex started the day tagging along with the Il-2s. After an uneventful escort mission made entertaining by the fantastic view of the Il-2 attacks, we were greeted by a flight of 3-4 lost children who couldn't find their parents (read: Bf-109s away from their own bombers) circling directly over Agoy. Alex and I gave chase and a monotonous dogfight ensued, but neither side managed to get an advantage and we disengaged, landing without incident.

The second time around the picture over the Il-2s repeated itself, but once again we came home to find German aircraft. This time Kevin Malone was not left behind and the whole family was there. Being 2 fighters against at least 3 bombers and 3 fighters, we knew odds weren't good but proceeded with the attack. Alex heroically destroyed two enemy bombers and severely damaged a third one, before falling to the ground himself. I resumed cover to the Il-2s after no more German bombers were in sight, but to my surprise I found the 3 German fighters flying circular patterns over our airfield (located 30km south from the nearest target), like Cat mentioned. Without having much of a choice, I engaged but eventually fell victim to an engine fire and had to descend via parachute.

Some minutes later, the same sight-seers were still hanging out over our airfield so I took off in a Spitfire (the remaining instantly Yak-1s disappeared from the selection screen for some reason) to aid Jizzo, who had been alone in fending off the attackers. For the next 15 minutes we danced the tango against a flight of high-flying Bf-109s but eventually they got bored and left, so we and the Il-2s finally got to land in peace.

Nice flying, everyone! Also, if any of you want to go 'pistols at dawn' with us, just stay over the objectives and we will greet you with a smile, no need to hang out over our airbase all day long ;)

You did a fine job on Agoy. We lost the use of that airfield just as damaged Il-2s were hoping to land there.

Cheers.

Nice screen shots,

But it all looked different from our perspective!!

On the first flight we over flew the torpedo boats being attacked, but we carried on with our escort duties to Agoy.

The bombers hit it hard (and i do believe closed it down), we had a dance with 2 Yak1's for a while, but both sides disengaged without any 'kills'

Second flight was escort duty again, this time to the Harbour to pay the Black Sea Fleet a visit, and again we bumped into 2 Yak1's (the same ones?)

One of which attacked and collided with a Ju88, the other seeing he was out numbered bugged out, so our flight flew down the coast after him until we arrived at the enemy airbase.

We circled for a couple of minutes until we spotted him.

I engaged and quickly dispatched him, just as a 1B turned up.

The 3 off us tried to BnZ him for quite a while, but he managed to hit 'Wingleader' and got him venting,

And now another 1B had turned up (from where??), and a Spitfire was taking off from the airfield below.

Fuel was running low, so it was time to RTB (i landed with the red light on, and zero fuel on the gauge!)

At no time did we 'camp' anywhere, even if it looked like that from down below.

I'd call it an 'Ariel Reconnaissance and Suppression  Environment' or ARSE for short!  ;)

Great mission though guys, well flown by all, the usual FNBF standards.

Many thanks to Tip.....

Schuck, it seems we flew all of Friday night together! :friends:

I was at the torpedo boats, and one of the two Yak-1s that disengaged, and one of the two Yak-1 that greeted you at the harbour, and I was in the Spitfire that took off to help Jizzo in his Yak-1b  Those were fun engagements, the classic variety of aerial chess.

Schuck, I've been looking at the stats and it seems that a solitary Bf109 was shooting up our airfield then crashed a few minutes before you shot down Lucas. Which is why when I eventually spawned as Lucas was falling to earth, after waiting 'with 'Airfield Under Light Attack' for all that time, only to find you chaps circling above I assumed that you'd been there a while. So all suggestions of base-camping by your squad are gladly withdrawn :salute: .

Cheers.

Really Lucas???...... it was fun though, aggressive but fair!

I might have guessed it was Jizzo in the 1B, he hit our mate, and try as we might we just couldn't get a bead on him, (good flying!!)

When another 1B turned up and then you (in the Spit) took off again it was time to leave.

You must have literally parachuted onto the airfield, ran and jumped into another plane!!

Its odd you say that Cat, because it caused abit of confusion within our flight, we thought it was just the 3 of us......

But that does explain why, i kept asking who was with me, and kept getting a negative answer from the guys!

I have to give a special thanks to 'Wingleader' and 'Steinhoff' for great flying and company.

Do you guys still have missions in BoS?

As you can see we are knee deep in the Kuban campaign at the moment.

That said. Stalingrad Campaign was left off at a crucial point. Axis forces pushing hard in the city of Stalingrad itself with Red Army counter strikes attempting to reduce some of the pressure.

Big fight. Who will win? When the new version map (looks awesome btw) gets here. We may well indeed resume that campaign to its conclusion.

Yep. Same for Ju-88 and Ju-52 drivers.
