"Cloudy @ 2600m"

Seriously, Tip?

we'll be AAA fodder!

I prefer to play Russian Roulette with a revolver rather than a semi-automatic pistol

(of course, this is only a forecast, I am sure it will change?)

Definitely 2600m on my brief, hope it's a typo.

Cloudy @ 2600m here too but sounds good, why should we always have a clear sky ?

+1  :)

2600 m it was and it is - sadly no-one started whining about that injustice, speculating how and why one side is preferred over the other.   :P

Sorry Tip, I am going to have to bail out on tonight.

so if anyone wants an He111, there will be a spare one.

Contact Tip.

(early start tomorrow, and I need more than 4 hours sleep)

Posted

Tip, is there any chance we can have an additional 190?

Posted (edited)

I can drop out if your mate wants to play.

I´m one of the few not in squadron after all.

You are fine Leon. There is no need to be in a squadron and you have all the right to be here ... if my squad friend has to wait, he can just stay in the reserve.

Thxs for the offer though

Cheers

Copy that. Thanks for the heads up.

No, not on this one.

As you mentioned above if they wish to go on standby and take an open plane from the plane set. James has dropped so there is a 111 open.

I can drop out if your mate wants to play.

Being in a squadron is not, nor will ever be, a prerequisite for participating in FNBF.

See ya's soon.

Thanks Tip, I had a fun evening once I'd  re-installed my HOTAS. Cheers.

Some good shots here, well done !

Thanks for the mission Tip.

On our side, we've met 3 He-111 and 1 Me 109 G-2 on our first flight, and while we were doing our job nicely, an amazing gunner shot down 2 of us...

What should we think of Bladebender's gunner ability and his undestroyable He-111 ?

Notice that 111 and 121 suffered the exact same damages with only one hit...

Later I was shot down and killed by a 190 with a nice shot in B&Z. Hard night.

The H-16 has the top-rear MG131 and bot-rear MG81Z, you really should avoid at all cost to attack from high, low or direct six, gents.

It gives a very good impression of how Luftwaffe Fighters feel, when attacking late-model PE-2's from the same angles!

As always awesome mission and well flown, gentlemen!

Bladebender has good aim and that guns are powerful, my first thought was that I collided with other plane when turning away from his He111 , because my plane was split in half ,wing shot off and rotating like mad towards ground.

Any way I have fun as always:)

That he is a very good one? ;)

I flew a couple of times with Blade and he is a very good pilot. I guess this was a matter of skill and luck (or bad luck on your side)

Really guys ? Watch my video again so, how can you explain that he shot Razor (111) who is far above and front while the gunner shot behind, and how explain that he shot me (121) while his He-111 had hit the ground and far away from me ?

I could have understood lag if only it happened seconds after our shots, but here it happened too late after.

As good he can be, it's clearly impossible to shoot down 2 fighters that way and so far with those angles and with exactly the same damages.

And it seems that Tomcat was shot down with exactly the same damages too. Seriously, can't believe it.

Once again, take a real look at my vid before answering.

With the first Yak is Razor actually getting struck by a round or is the wing coming off from an earlier strike and giving way from the stress. Possibly what happened to you in the second as well.

The He-111 sticking in the ground. That looks like a possible track problem. Perhaps he will reply and/or have a track himself of the action.

Anyway. Good pics and vids all. Was a good mission for the Ducks until we tarried too long and other foes showed up in the second sortie.

Clearly, Razor's Yak received zero damage before, take a look at the wings, no holes at all plus he is at the upper side of his climbing path, so no hard maneuver here. When he loses his wing we can see a hit without any tracer coming around (1:10) : Left wing cut, right wing bent, and fuel leak. The only gunner firing is Bladebender's one shotting to his 7 o clock (where there is no one at the time).

For Fahrenheit's Yak it's the EXACT same. After a pass where he lights up Bladebender's cockpit and gunner, Blade's going downin a spin and his rear up gunner is firing again at his 7 o'clock level (from 1:30 to 3:02 where Blade's plane is stuck in ground with gunner still firing). At 3:46 Fahrenheit is hit (we see the splash) as ONLY Bladebenders rear up gunner is shooting while on the ground at his 7 o'clock (we see the tracers on the ground). Once again, right wing off, left wing bent and fuel leak.

Tacview shows the exact same thing.

It's neither skill nor luck. Here I guess we have a bug either gunner IA or server side. I believe we should report it on this forum.

@[DBS]Tx_Tip, can you provide server side logs to fulfill this bug report?

Thanks

After reviewing the video, there is definitely a bullet strike before the Yak's wing is lost. And that bullet appears to come from a bomber located at great distance from the Yak. So unless BoX video tracks are known to behave this way (registering bullet strikes long after they have occurred), I think the "bullet strike code" ought to be revised to make it impossible to register damage with MGs at that distance.

Didn't do much at all yesterday thanks to a disconnect party. The issue seems to be resolved though so next time I'll get them 109s.

Spending his fuel without counting our leader will be forced to land on an  airfiled abandoned.

Nobody was injured.

See you soon !

Two times we where attacked in our HE 111 and second time I was the only one still flying. Activated my bombs one to many so they deactivated on first run, on second run I was shot to pieces right over target. I liked flying the HE 111, but low level clouds , well was not ideal. What can one do, I feel I need to do HE 111 once more to show I am man enough to fly it. unfortunately the delay caused by TS disconnect made it impossible for me to take another sortie

Posted

No worries about the English, please! I had a full (bomb) load of fun with you, thanks - any time again! Formation flying went well and I hope we get those hangars of the first sortie recorded with the statistic results!

Posted

I was flying a Heinkel with Blade, and he called out when he shot the first plane down, and then told us later (after we had landed damaged or bailed out and made our way back to base to fly another bomb run) that he had managed to land and shot another plane down while on the ground.

You guys need to understand that you're looking at your replays, not the server's replays, right?  The engagement might have looked very different from his or the server's side.

At any rate, I heard nothing during the engagement that would lead me to believe anything other than Blade did some nice gunnery work.

And we know that for sure. But if the engagement looked that different from server side or Blade's client side then I would call that  a MAJOR BUG!

That's why I asked for server logs to fulfill a bug report. As for supposed lags, Fahrenheit is running a high speed fiber connexion with RJ45 connexion between the modem and his PC. So clearly nothing to search here.

We agreed internally that I will handle the bug report as it's my job as a network engineer in a very big network company. I already have all Fahrenheit logs, once I got server logs I will file the bug report.

Thanks

That was me , I shot down a plane strafing me on the ground

Posted

And to the HE 111 attackers , my gunner reported target destroyed 2 times during your attack. So I was confident I got some stats, it turned out that Bladebender got both kills. My gunner reported another target destroyed while I was on ground getting strafed by you lot. So it was not only Bladebender that hit you, my gunners did too

After the mission had ended on saturday morning I was not able to process the txt-log files for the stats because of the folder being corrupted and unaccesible. The event viewer reported file structure corruption. This may have been caused by running the del command in order to delete the log files of the entire last to weeks.

Last night we managed to fix it via chkdsk and we got access to the log files again.

It may be possible that this file structure corruption is the reason for a delay between the server and the clients representation of the action going on.
