Do you guys do anything for US time zones? Would love to fly one of these but too early I'm still at work.

We did our duty with the tedious recon, Tip.

Nice touch to lull us into a false sense of security and sending us there again for the second sortie.

I have never seen so many Yaks in one place, or holes in an He111.

but I had..."fun"

Very hard mission as usual. Tough visibility conditions, lots of enemy aircraft and very skilful piloting on both sides.

Communications were good both within our flight and across all groups, or at least it felt that way. The highlight for me was Tomcat leading an audacious escape against four Bf-109s! Lots of adrenaline, and despite not making it back to base the pilots were alive and well within our lines ready to fight another day.

My first flight was abruptly ended by a self-inflicted prop strike, while the second time around I attempted to climb on full power... with the gear down!

It was fun last night, our new guy Leon Portier did well. Always hard to fly FNBF for the first time. If you do not have fun in FNBF you are doing it wrong.

THX to everybody , especially to tip, who made it happened as always.

II/JG11 had a lot of fun and Extensive dogfights with Yak,spits and il2s over the CAP Area,

1.Sortie, a few Yaks and spits and il2s were shot down by PUMA and TERZEROLE ;) , me was killed by angry jak :(

2.Sortie: no enemy contact over CAP Area, enjoying the morning sun when landed at Novotitaroskaya.

enjoy as we did!

Will that make the next mission a night time mission? ;o

@ ATLAN.  :o:   Where did you find an Il-2 up that high? He must have been lost and searching for something. Personally I have no idea what the ground looks like from anything higher than tree-level. Of course, the only trouble with this approach is that the trees are definitely on the enemy's side!

Cheers.

Is it wrong to fly high?

216th_Lucas_From_Hell

Not inherently, but in the Il-2 you could be diving from 12000m and you still wouldn't escape a Bf-109. Close to the ground however, the 109s cannot get as close when diving because otherwise they lawn dart, so the ground becomes your shield of sorts.

Is it wrong to fly high?

Not 'wrong', but what Lucas says is true. Plus, in the Il-2 and other true ground-pounders, the lower down you keep the less chance you have of being spotted. Keep on the deck all the way to the target; rise up a few hundred metres just before you arrive there to acquire the target and be able to dive in on it. After hitting the target stay low and jink all over the place while extending away from the AAA. They have less chance of hitting you if you are low.

Cheers.

Nice one, that's Marine and me there in the back at them fluffy clouds!

Last friday during the last mission I was instantly killed and did not have a clue why.

There was no AAA during my attack, my gunner had not been firing and I did not see any tracers.

Fortunately I recorded the mission.

Just look at my luck (I am the Il-2 :) ):

Clearly one thing devs should look at and rework, not the first time i see such collision.

That was a nice mission, as usal, thanks for it Tip !

NN was escorting Pe-2 during their 2 flights.

We've seen some shots near the grounds over the first target but seems the other Yaks were doing the job well, no call on radio for help so we stayed with our bombers.

On the second one, Pe-2 spotted a He-111, must be a recon their and alone, so we shot him down but his gunner hardly damaged my cooling system and engine so I headed to the base alone with my grey/dark smoke but just when my engine started to die (RMP jumping), a Me-109 shot at me so I ejected.

Then fly back with my mates, we went near Il-2s' target to help and protect, we saw 109 over starting to B&Z. We met a 109 quite high with more energy, try to fight but darkness was his ally.

See you on the next one !

ROE with regards to un-designated aircraft remains the same...

btw Pod that was me. However I thought you were flying away from me so we closed extremely fast. I was firing before the prop hit your aircraft so additional damage to your craft was from that.

Please Note that FNBF Missions will begin at 19:00 UTC.

 General Info:

Password for the Battlefields/UK_1 server will be:

*UK_1 Server Settings for Friday Night Bomber Flights will be Full CEM, No Icon, No Navigational aides.

*TS will be the Official BoS server (8.3.5.133:9407) password bos2014; in one of the MP Channels.

Backup will be Rise of Flight: ts3.riseofflight.net:7777 - Password: 1917

 Mission Kuban "Copperhead!"

All pilots please review the enclosed ROE.

1) Mission will now last for 2 and 1/2 Hours not including the 12 minute hold below in #2.

2) Once the Mission Starts in the server a 12 Minute Hold is put on Players proceeding to target. ***Player controlled Tanks are excluded from this 12 Minute Hold. See #11.

2a) Following this 12 minutes hold. A visible HUD Message with the phrase "Launch Aircraft!" will appear for 1 Minute.

3) A 30 Minute "Mulligan" is now in effect. Players who die within the first 30 minutes (excluding Hold time) of the mission are allowed to respawn into available aircraft.

4) HUD Messages usually showup for met Objectives. Make sure to destroy briefed targets or MAP Icon designated targets.

5) Players need to land before Mission end or be counted as destroyed. *Vehicles, Infrastructure and Aircraft which were destroyed during this sortie will be reinstated.

6) Each Airfield has additional aircraft added to allow for #2 and #3 above.

7) No Intentional Team Killing, Chute Attacks or Base Camping is allowed.

****Total Designated Aircraft for Mission are: (Players may use Un-Designated Aircraft if alive after 1st Sortie and 30 Minute Mulligan has Elapsed)

Change in ordinance. Weapondary and Loadouts are now locked.

 16 Ju-88A-4

 14 Bf109G-2

 10 Fw190A-3

 ==============================

 14 Yak-1 s.69

 14 Pe-2 s.87

 12 IL2-42

 10 La-5 s.8

8) Each Airfield has a Refueling/Rearming/Refitting Rate. Which requires that you Land your Plane back at the base you took off from.

*Players whose aircraft were destroyed are allowed to refly given that they have not been killed and there are available aircraft.

*Players of course are not allowed to change sides during the mission.

10) Players charged with specific Recon for "future or current missions" must have a transmitted message, (*use Chat), or have Objective HUD Message at the time of Recon and then Land at an Operational Airbase for recon to be verified and plotted for said future or current mission. Players may also take or be required to take Recon pictures. Landing rule applies and please submit Picture to [DBS]Tx_Tip for inclusion in future Recon Briefing Packs.

11) Just a gentle reminder. Please use appropriate armament for the Mission you are tasked for.

****Payloads and Weapondry are now locked

12) Airbase Attacks. New***

Players may conduct a coordinated Airbase attack only on Enemy Bases which have been reconnoitered as specifically stated in #8 above or designated as a legitimate target.

Targets below are required to close the base if a designated airfield attack is ordered:

 Ammo Bunkers

 Fuel Bunkers

 Dugouts

 Hangers

There will be no vulching permitted in any instance. Make your attacks and retire from the area promptly. Legitimate ground targets next to operational airbases require fighter suppression on those bases. Again make your attacks and retire from the area promptly.

I do not wish to completely deter attacks with additonal flak pieces at Airfields. These resources can be better put to use in armor, vehicles, trains etc. that we all enjoy blowing up. Nuff said.

13) Tanks.***

Player controlled Tanks are excluded from the 12 Minute hold limit and may spawn in and begin moving when they are ready.

It is suggested that the Player remove themselves from within the Spawn Point Radar ASAP. Your mission objectives will always be outside of this Radar. And there may be a time limit to achieve said objectives.

Hint.Tanks travel via roads up to 3 times faster than off road.

 Just a reminder....

This in the Briefing for every Game-Server Mission that we at Battle-fields.com hosts including the 2 BoS servers...

Please respect other pilots. Team Killing, Chute Attacks and Base Camping is strictly forbidden and players are subject to being Kicked from the server. Foul Language will not be tolerated.

 That is all.

 Have Fun!

Not so strange Pod, track can be out of sync with the server, if you look at all your track, you might observe it.

(and I'm talking about TacView showing complete amazing behaviours for all planes...)
