Jizzo Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 (edited) PSU Cooler Master V850 Modular 850W (80+ Gold) Fantastic rig you built there, only thing overkill is the PSU. Peak power consumption on that rig with overclocking included is around 400 watt, which i believe you don't even want to do since you didn't take the 7700K. So rather get a good platinum+ 500 watt PSU and not unnecessarily waste money. Or even better invest the saved money from the PSU in the "K" CPU to have better future overclocking capabilities at hand. PS: Love your choice of the cpu-cooler , ain't nothing like having a Noctua in the case! Edited October 19, 2017 by [TWB]Jizzo 1
II/JG11_ATLAN_VR Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 Also will upgrade to the identical rig in december because of vr fps improvement singlethread cpu amd fx 8370 to i7 7700k +71%
=FI=Genosse Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 If there still a warm seat in an IL-2 for me available I'd take it, Tip! Cheers, mate!

SC_Manu653 Posted October 19, 2017 Posted October 19, 2017 I would like to help in AXIS side Tip but I'm not sure to be able to fulfill all the action. So if you don't mind if I'm free I will jump in.

Jizzo Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) Other simulators relie on PSU so it is only a good thing Sorry but you are wrong here, LuseKofte. The 400 Watt +/- 25 i mentioned are for full peak power consumption of the entire system under full load. Even if you run the highest hardware demanding simulator of all time or 5 simulators simultaneously, it will still only consume that ammount of power. And for example having an 850W PSU running in your rig when the system only needs about 400W will have the PSU running at a very low ammount of efficiency, due to the fact that the best efficiency level for PSU's are mostly around when running above 75% total. Only thing what would make sense in this scenario is, that Keben really wants to buy a 2nd 1080 in the near future and run them in SLI, then i would actually say his choice of the PSU is better! 216th_Jordan Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Ouf! What an intense mission! ~S~ to all involved. Our fighter escorts suffered great losses but were able to fend off quite some attackers from the Il-2s and there was action to the last minute. At one point I was dodging a pair of 109s for 10 minutes before I could somehow lose them finally and RTB. Got my heart pumping. 2
NN_Fahrenheit Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Hard for NN, suffered the loss of 2 of us over 1135, we were 4 vs 8 109 G2 and G4. Razor tried to bail out but was killed doing so (bad luck), Oscar was killed in cockpit. Then, i helped Pe-2 flight in their 2nd mission. Thanks for the mission Tip, clearly lot of work here, glad to have such missions and campaigns. Just one negative point tonight : guys using lights... again... Is this so hard to identified each other or is this to illuminate targets and call your friends back ? (track tends to think the 2nd choise...) This kills immersion, other guys (in 109 too) use flares, this is really better, do the same ! 1
1./KG4_OldJames Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Awesome stuff Tip. I managed to rtb with a dodgy joystick button (my excuse, and I am sticking to it), restarted and got shot down, then on the second mission I missed the target again, but we all got back. Totally worth it, thanks. 1
CCG_bexhausted Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Nav lights above Pe2 smoking hard ? Why ? 1
Nocke Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) Not trolling, really just curious: Did these planes actually have nav lights? If so, couldn't it have happened that pilots used them to show their position to others? Please don't shoot me. Really just wondering. And why would it have made a difference to shoot a flare? Edited October 20, 2017 by 216th_Nocke 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 Got grilled twice today, plus a game crash. Learned some valuable lessons in the process however, and the bomber boys got come safe most of the time which is the main thing.

Yes the planes had actual navlights. The thing is that current navlights show waaay too much, you can see those navlights better than flares which definitely is not correct. Its commonly used on MP servers, guess the person using it just wasn't aware that its not good manners here. Not a super big deal though (for me) Edited October 20, 2017 by 216th_Jordan 1

Goal of the """"""""""""""""""""""""tactic""""""""""""""""""""""""""" is clear .... One 109 ALONE over the target 4000 meters ? , he saw flak firing at us first , then he saw bombers he even not engage any of us , and we were 6 ... just one low pass upon us , no shootin , and then climb and circle with lights on until the others are there ... and then, when they are, join the mix and switch the lights off ...! Great attitude .... ahem ... edit : i ve reviewed the whole track , check missions logs in fnbf stats and i now know who was 1_ 365 ... Edited October 21, 2017 by 13Nrv 1
SC_Manu653 Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 I must say that I was taking care of the different level of communication between elements and I've doesn't saw this 109 in any elements. I know that he was in our airfield at the beginning.
Chief_Mouser Posted October 20, 2017 Posted October 20, 2017 (edited) Home! Last mission of the day - jumped by three 109s at the target. Pod's Il-2 gunner got two of them, one seconds before he crash-landed, and Jordan's Spitfire picked off the other who was too busy trying to fill me full of holes. Dead gunner, smashed instruments, fuel leak and drooping right wing but she still got me back! Strangely, the tailwheel fell off as I taxied off the runway - not seen that before. Cheers. FTC_Riksen Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Ok this time it was not me for sure. I was using a custom skin and didnt put nav lights on at all but I did see someone shooting a red flare during the mission (which I assume is ok right?)
CCG_bexhausted Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 (edited) A Flare is totaly right. Because : -the flare signals a position approximately -does not follow the goal that he highlights (in the example above planes could have flown far away from it) -not unlimited as nav lights -not checked yet but probably you can't see flare as far as you can see nav lights (i mean in the day, nigth is obvious different) On the other hand this 109 had correctly anticipated a possible RTB bombers. His radio was broken ? Awsome mission. I 'll post some pics as soon as possible. @216th-Cat good job ! Well done RTB. See you all in the dark sky next week (i hope so !). Thanks a lot Tip ! If I knew you would make this wol server I would have stopped flying month ago. I do not fly public servers because of WT attitude you show here. Box series has become the new Warthunder and now it has taken FNBF. Sad you boys will find yourself flying alone
II/JG11_ATLAN_VR Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 guys whats going on here for me and my guys FNBF allways was a great fun! lets Keep calm 1
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Nice pictures Atlan! That's me missing a wing and dead, nice shooting 1
216th_Jordan Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 (edited) Yes please calm down everyone Navlights don't violate any rules yet (I'm all for excluding it though) and I can see how using them feels arcardish but its really not a super big deal. The planes would also have found the Pe-2s without the navlights. I would much rather go to this thread and see some nice screenshots or videos of what happend instead of this back and forth discussion. PS: Will see if I can come up with some good shots later Edited October 21, 2017 by 216th_Jordan 3

216th_Peterla Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 Nice pics guys. I wish I was there! Don't take it too seriously about the lights issue. Just let Tip to talk to the guy and problem solved. Pretty sure that was not intended in a bad way, maybe was the quicker way to show his position ad he didn't realized that was that bad. I will be out for a while but hopefully will join someday with TS. All the best and keep enjoying this awesome event. Regards,
Lusekofte Posted October 21, 2017 Posted October 21, 2017 I care not about the light, it is just the fact that these people take part in discussion on how realistic the planes are and wether it roll half a turn more than it should do in a minute or not, and at the same time cannot behave realisitc themselves. To me a simulator based on multiplayer the conduct of its community count more than the software itself If I'd known using the available tools would rustle this many jimmies I would have done it months ago! And I know of better company on a friday night than this. So I am out
