Lusekofte Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 (edited) Tx_Tip' timestamp='1498614133' post='484203'] Interesting vocation Luse. Looking forward to the day when we fly together so you can fill me in on how you raise the blade then bolt it down... Oh I am not the one mounting them this time, it has been 7 years ago since I operated a big enough crane. My arthritis problems make me useless with a sledgehammer . I actually think rigging and dismounting crawler cranes in freezing temperature was the thing giving me these health issues. I am just loading them on to the trucks with a 160 tonn mobile crane. The one lifting them on site is a 1750 t Liebherr crane owned by a Finnish company called Havator. The trick is reallyy how you attach them and what equipment. Once you got that it is easy peacy. It is like a pipe with a lot of bolts, and in this case they are mounted 1 by one horizontal. Other do it vertical and at some point they lift it complete with 3 blades Edited June 29, 2017 by 216th_LuseKofte
=FI=Blue2 Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Looks like I can make this one. Kindly add me in an IL-2, Tip. I may switch to a Peshka if =FI=Genosse can make it. I drove up highways 153 and 70 between Winters and Sweetwater (Texas) just over 2 weeks ago. I think that area must be the largest wind farm in the state, though I'm not certain. There must be at least 500 of them in that area, which is roughly 12 x 25 miles in size judging by Google Maps. I'm told our state has the most in the U.S., and that's definitely the greatest number I've seen in any one area. Quite a sight. Also, the City of Sweetwater uses two of the blades as "welcome" signs on Interstate 20 - one on each side of town. Always impressive seeing the blades going down the highway. It took seeing one up close like that to realize how MASSIVE those things are! Look forward to flying with you guys tomorrow!
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted June 29, 2017 Posted June 29, 2017 Got cha Blue2 and you can see definitely see those from the air as well... 216th_Peterla Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Need to take my wife to the airport, so not sure if I can make it in time or join little late. I'll do my best.
Lusekofte Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Sorry did not make it, worked since 2 in the morning and just arrived from the airport
Nocke Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Thx Tip for another entertaining evening! Was a party for the AAA from our point of view I got a friendly fire message after destroying a mg34aa at 1325, Ivanovka, several km west of the front line. Could it be it was somehow misassigned? Or have I really been as disoriented as to shoot an own AAA? 1
216th_Peterla Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 I got the same info in the after mission report, so I guess is a bug. Nice mission, sadly I died in a crash. 1
1./KG4_OldJames Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 (edited) [DBS]Tx_Tip you are featured in my FNBF post on Screenshots, nice dive btw https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/29884-fnbf-my-perspective/ Edited June 30, 2017 by 1./KG4_OldJames 1
SCG_happy_meal Posted June 30, 2017 Posted June 30, 2017 Fun flying with you guys, but if the reds dont appreciate what we are delivering so will we take our presents to somebody's that do appreciate them 1
Sky_Wolf Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Here are some highlights from an IL2-LaGG flight during the Precipice mission. Includes ground attacks and a Bf109 attack (unsuccessful) on an IL2. The IL2 pilot can later be seen firing at the German pilot after he ejected, but I can assure you there was no intent to kill, only to mock. 2
Chief_Mouser Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Great fun again chaps - thanks for organising Tip. Going to miss next week so don't finish the war without me... Cheers.
Lusekofte Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 I am on a little vacation from now on, and will not attend next time either
Retnek Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 My last mission to a well known target, heading west: Comrade, look what they have done to our motherland! Hangar door darts (the bomb stuck in the door like a dart) brute force door opener it worked, same for the factory look at the Blue ones, Ju 52 at Gumrak - tempting, but no need to argue with that wonder-AAA and there was an escort hanging around Not now, brothers, not now! And finally a brute crosswind nearly made my day FUN-FUN-FUN 3
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 Interesting that you guys received a friendly fire for the MGs. They were definitely Axis. I'll do some looksee into it for future reference. @Pericles That "Action" recorder makes a nice vid. You do a very good job on it. Especially liked the ground attack and the take-off views. We are all clear then. No chute shooting/statements. Do a flyby and waggle your wings instead. Was good mission all. Well Flown.
Retnek Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 @Tip, cited from JimTM handbook, p 51 ff: " ... 6. (Do any time before testing mission) For a multiplayer mission with "Friendly FireNotification" enabled on the server, do the following for objects that are near apotential target and likely to be hit:a) Make the object a linked entity.b) In the object advanced properties, change the country from "Neutral" to thesame country as the target.c) In the object properties, click "Delete Linked Entity".The country that you specified remains for the object. You can verify the countryby making the object a linked entity again and checking the advanced properties. This step avoids erroneous "fired on a friendly" chat messages. These messages canoccur because an object country defaults to "Neutral", which is considered friendly tohuman players and an enemy to AI objects. If a player hits the neutral object while attacking an enemy object, the friendly fire chat message is displayed. ..." Don't know if that is the reason.
Snacko Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 I just read about these Friday Night Bombing Missions today. Do you use your own teamspeak? And is there any formal rules posted, or just show up and fly? Thx.
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 (edited) Hey Snacko... There will be a post with the signups and general Mission parameters here in this Forum Topic and always below at Battle-fields. Following signups then a detailed briefing for both sides will be related via PM. We use the BoS TS for communication. Below was yesterdays mission signups sheet. Additionally there will be an AAR put out sometime this weekend with the results of the mission. Full Signup, Roster sheet visit our Battle-fields site Here... Look forward to flying with you.Tip Edited July 1, 2017 by [DBS]Tx_Tip
[DBS]Tx_Tip Posted July 1, 2017 Posted July 1, 2017 @Tip, cited from JimTM handbook, p 51 ff: . ..." Don't know if that is the reason. For the MGs in question their logic within the mission was more entailed than forgetting to set the coalition. However it would not the first nor I'm sure will it be the last time I will space out on something within a mission. Be it an obvious error or other. However I sincerely do want to thank you for taking the time to look up the possible problem and finding a solution through the manual. S! Tip
