Here's another IL2 flight from last week's FNBFs (Pod, Cat, Nocke, LuseKofte, Pericles).

It includes footage of a coordinated and precise Bf-110 bombing of a shipyard that 5./ZG1_happy_meal posted about earlier in the thread. Happy_meal is one of the Bf110 pilots, I don't know who the other three are.

Well.... it booted one more time, after several intents, and several disk repair runs.

Perhaps the last time, but perhaps I will able to fly this FNBF!

Yes, love night flying, it make the 109 blind as bat´s :D

Medium effectiveness , flying without hud made me over cook my engine on low RPM and boost ? on winter? never done that before with 40 % rads in winter time. But that was pretty late in attack # 2 so I am pretty satisfied.

Going up to a windmill park and lift some mill blades close to the Russian border, still almost winter temperature  up there so I cannot attend the next two weeks

Sorry for not answering on Teamspeak Cat, had some mic problem during the evening. That why i was flying alone trying to drag you away from the main force wothout much  succefull it seems.

In the end so had I gotten myself lost far to the east after a hit and run attack on the def line in the South when i did see this little light marking my way home.

After looking on the replays so must i say that it was a very polity airbattle, passing by several VVS plane between 0,5-4k without a shoot fired in anger. :)

Very nice to fight at night for a change.

@5./ZG1_happy_meal I was really surprised to be killed in airflied after peaceful landing :-) not warning sirens, flares, not even dogs were barking  - all comrades were sleeping ... political officer will have hands full of work in the morning :-) And it would not happend if Banzai - the christmas tree were not landing before me, lucky he  hehe :-)

Amazing Mission! Amazing Athmosphere! thx to Tip, Amazing Immersion due to Oculus Rift CV1 me and PUMA were testing on this great Event.

We really enjoyed it, it was a lot of fun, in the middle of the night, full moon over Stalingrad.

Was definitely challenging. Enjoyed turning off the HUD and flying that way. I believe all aircraft available were able to just setup and go without having to have on the techno chat unless making some minor adjustments which made it even more of a challenge. Interesting as the night worn on the moon began to set and at the end was a half-moon. The visibility became even worse. Using the NDB was necessary.  We had Hanger Queens engines blow up. Mid-Air mishaps and a whole plethora of things going on.

As said turning off the HUD I will be able to get where most of the things were destroyed by virtue of the objects. I might need to get a rundown from some of you on a few areas.

*This one was jam packed up to the point of no return. Here was where having the server utilize multi-cores would certainly of come in handy. ;)

The red side didn't need NDB last night, we used the force, an ever present navigation beacon showing us the way home....vodka.....vodka....vodka.....vodka <--------morse code for home field

I turned off the technochat a while back, as the other 216th chaps weren't using it, so last night wasn't any more difficult for me than it normally is. What I have had to do though is learn where all the controls in the cockpit are, and know what position they should be at for the required settings. That and devising a thorough cockpit drill for each plane. The immersion is much, much greater, but the downside is that when I go back to a plane I haven't flown in a while I have no idea about most of it with the chat turned off. Blew up the engine on a La-5 just the other day because of it...

Yes I fly with hud off , but miss out on chat, Is it I you push on to get chat but not the rest. The reason I favour the IL 2 43 mod is because the sight do not obstruct the view on Compass. In first mission I forgot to watch the compass as often as I should, and got lost, had to return to Stalingrad to get a new fix. I also overheated my engine, I might have gotten damage, because with rads partially on it should not be possible, I just did not pay enough attention to the gauges, I love these realism hud off offer, but it definitely give a disadvantage in stressful situation.

To switch off the hud in vr flight is Important and essential to inctrease fps and you get used to it how to fly with Instruments only. Is more real i like it.also you learn to get near er to the possible plane to identify friend or foe and when you fire you mostly hit.it improves my kill ratio.

As the gunner stopt talking so was it alone in the dark, starting to hear and see enemy's every where. :)

But the all the paranoia and fear did pay off as I did make it thru the gauntlet.

The tacview looks interesting. I didn't realize it would also lightup ground stuff but seems logical now that I think about it.

Hard to see whats going on...

I don't have BoK so no IL2 for me this week. I'm interested in escorting IL2s if possible. Put me down for a Yak or LaGG, whichever will be supporting IL2s (if fighters are supporting IL2s this mission). Thanks.

Whup... That's a typo.

IL2-42 is the available aircraft for this mission.

***Do you still want to do a fighter or stick with IL2?
