I got a serious problem, I do not listen when my wife tells me something, but obviously I have answered positively to what she at some point said. This means I am not availeable tonight. I got to stop saying yes when I see her talking and not paying attention

Short and sweet for me tonight.

Hit by flak on the first pass - one cannon gone, rudder not working, instruments smashed, and leaking fuel. Time to head for home. Trouble is, home is 20-25 minutes away.

 

 

Almost there though, when spotted by Karaya and his mate. That streak to the left and above his nose is me.

 

 

After his first attack, great lumps of the plane are missing

 

 

After his second... we're doomed!

 

 

Too low to bail out, I ploughed it into a field, survived - although bloody - and pressed Mission End. And all was looking good until six seconds left - BOOM - it bloody well exploded.

So my FNBF lasted just 37 minutes, my shortest yet. Oh well, there's always next week.

 

PS Tip, there were no bombs or rockets available for the Il-2s. An oversight? If not, can we know the loadouts in the briefing please? It was rather an unpleasant shock. I would have taken something else if I had known.

This was an outlier mission. BoM aircraft with the H-16. I thought it was a good matchup.

 

... I just erased a snap post on the whole P-40 and IL2-41 ammo thing.
