I've always been intrigued by this aircraft's design and also how the opinions of the American (British?) pilots were so different than many of the Soviet pilots. It may have been more related to the role and use of the aircraft than anything. I tried and tried in Il-2 to fly this plane but always wanted to toss it around like a nimble dogfighter and I found it hard to maintain speed and recover from a stall. Oh, and I'm going to nick that quote in your signature for my next data presentation at work. Derek
