FIrst I was doubting to buy the sim as I was not too interested in the theatre and those Russian planes but I decided to give it a go anyway and I must say that this sim awakened my interest in those planes and the theatre now. I was very pleasantly surprised when starting to fly the Lagg.

I'm very impressed by what I have seen of the sim until now.

It was a blast just flying the LaGG around. A very positive experience, IMO.

Team 777: Thank you very much for the oprtunity to experience this awesome sim this early. I am convinced that this will be the next great WWII sim that unites all combat WWII simpilots under one sim.

Salute!

Thank you verry much for the first successful  session. No major bugs...only a lot of fun! :good:

Thanks to all who are working on this masterpiece - you're on a good track to putting all the other programs to shame that carry 'flight' and 'sim' in their titles ;-)

Might start to beg you for a civilian sim, once BoS is done :)

Solid alpha build. Excellent communication. Superb launch. Salute !

It wasn't really an 'alpha' at all, it felt more like a final release LaGG3 trainer with a few normal final-release bugs. :salute:

S! Great job thank you for the fun.

Great start Jason most impressed.

A small request - Would it be possible to set up another small mission that starts half way down the downwind leg that can be used for landing practice?

I have hundreds of real life landings under my belt, 10 years of IL2 and flying RoF since it was released and never had a problem with landings - Including carrier landings in pacific fighters.

However, I have not managed many nothing broken landings and only 2 that didn't culminate with a ground loop at the end of the landing run with the LaaG.

It seems that Lagg3 was not made for power off landing. Keep 4 or 5 on pressure manifold and full flap until a 3 wheels touch down. If you bounce landing just go around.

Back to "waiting mode"! ;)

Those 4 evenings sessions were so great (GMT+1 zone here)!

Hope you can maintain a bit more than 72 hours access next week!

Successfull alpha launch, stable & enjoyable! The 1 week delay story is way behind! :)

Go for DD#42!

Congratulations to the team.  Really was a first rate introduction to the Alpha and to the new series.  Other flight sim developers will be trying to emulate your success for years to come.

Thanks to the team. Looking forward to next week with BoS  :)

Jason: Outstanding! The closest I've ever come to flying a plane/helicopter was a number of years ago when I rode shotgun with my brother-in-law who flew helicopters commercially (was a medevac US pilot in Vietnam). He let me hold the stick in front of me for @ 20 seconds (felt like eternity) so I could feel the power of the twin 750 HP tubos of the copter (HH65-Dauphin).  I buy and bought a number of flight sims for my computer through the years and I've never been so challenged and thrilled by a software program as what you are involved in.  My rig below is plenty powerful and I ownly have an older but great Microsoft FF2 flight stick but when I logged on Tuesday night and tried to take off in scene 1 and ended up in circles I knew that this was the "Real McCoy" a true AND challenging flight sim. Perhaps you can create a super easy mode for old goats like me! Seriously, I was able to take off in the last scenario and "fly at night" and WOW!

Best $90 spent on software in a LONG time. Thank you.

The first look on this Alpha Build myself. I can say the game look very impressive and the performance on my HTPC, too. Since the first look at the 32% was very impressive.  How impressive would be the 68%?:salute:

Thanks to team. Big risk and reward thing to publish game in alpha stage for pre-orderers. Looking forward to next weeks and PvE and PvP action.  :salute:

I didn't expect it to be that refined already. Didn't notice any serious problems while testing and it runs great.

I'm definately looking forward to the next updates and hope i'll be able to participate as often as possible.

Thanks Jason

It was all down to me. Glad I managed to pull it off.

Thanks for rescuing the IL-2 franchise!  Happy to support such an effort.

(And I apologize for posting my problem in the wrong forum! :) )

No, thank YOU, Jason.

You only have your straight up, no bull approach to managing the development and handling communication with the community to thank.

Keep it up and I and surely thousands of others will be there to support your team. It's great to have you and your team in sim business producing these great products for this difficult crowd.

With alpha looking and feeling so good, you cannot fail.

Salute!

My only complaint is that they need to extend the map dramatically...to the south, about two thousand nautical miles....where it is warm!

Good grief it looks cold out there!

Good job, guys, this is the sim we are waiting for!

Posted

Thank you and the rest of the dev team for all the hard work. I have no doubt that BoS will be a worthy successor to IL2 in every way. I expected good... but I got damn near great.. for an Alpha that was outstanding!

Fantastic job Jason and the whole team. I'm so glad the early realease went smooth. Look forward for many hours of combat flight.

I must say it is impressive how well the sim evidently ran on such a range of machines. I think that was one of the huge flaws in CoD when it came out - it needed something super powerful to do it justice, which most of us just didn't have. Scale-ability is crucial.

Thank you.

Your team hard work will bring a good success in future.

Thanks. I'm glad I preordered the premium edition:D

A great Alpha release, Jase. We supported you all because of the track record with RoF and we haven't been disappointed. Thanks from all of us at SYN Sqn :)

Yep well done Jason and the team.

I have to say when I first heard that 777 were going to be involved I knew things would be OK.

Rise Of Flight for me was the start of the definitive flight sim.

We can all look forward to a stable platform that works that can only get better.

I'm really impressed and encouraged by how the planning, development and community involvement is being handled.  Very sensible, disciplined and no unrealistic goals or promises.

I missed out on this weeks alpha access, but at least managed to get it installed and cannot wait for next week's access!

Posted

You, the team and the early fliers all deserve the credit. Outstanding job.

From the install, the setup and the flying of the LAGG there was exitement and fun.

The reactions here on this board must have reflected that.

No big bullies here now, only happy faces.

I hope you guys can keep up this momentum and this will be an iconic sim from the getgo.

It'll be another looong wait till tuesday.

Thumbs up

Reactions are very positive, and that is great if you take in mind that the flight sim community is very critical. The community is fixed on realism and wants as much features as possible. This is a good start, well done so far. Looking forward to coming weeks.

It's a great start. Can't wait to see what the future brings. And that optimism and all the goodwill you are seeing here is a direct result of how you and your team have performed well done!
