malexx74 Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 Hi, just want to know if only me expirience this or others too ....so i fly with g940 or ms ffb2.All Planes fly OK,except maybe the mig where the ffb goes crazy. So for the 109.To fly straight i need to put on at least -80 stabilzer, otherwise it pitches up heavy. With this setting any backward movement cant be precise cause it feels like i just half half movement of the stick like it should be. Now when i watch some youtube videos people have like -20 to -30 setting. In COD the 109 behaviour is normal. Is this a known ffb problem?and is there a solution? Its just not possible to fly any 109 like this. Thanks in advance ... 1
GridiroN Posted June 19, 2016 Posted June 19, 2016 I think it's only your problem. All BF109's achieve level flight for me between 0 and +1 indicated stablizer, which ends up being about 57% in game dialogue.
SYN_Mugue Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 (edited) To the OP, It's not just you. I also use a G940 and have the same thing happening, -80%+(techno chat value) forward stabilizer to maintain level flight, in all models of 109. (my tests are @300m, 1.1ata, quick mission on BoM summer map, air start) I have no idea what behavior would be historically correct or "normal". I'm just saying my controls are working the same as yours. Which leaves me curious as to why you think, "Its just not possible to fly any 109 like this."? I mean, I just set it at -80% and away I go...right? Not you? Regarding the difference between the settings from some youtube videos...I'll bet, those -20 to -30 settings are for non ffb sticks, unless stated otherwise. Cheers! Cpt_Cool Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I use ffb2 as well and it works just fine with the 109. I do know what you mean about the mig tho haha.
seafireliv Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 I use ffb2 as well and it works just fine with the 109. I do know what you mean about the mig tho haha. Works fine with the mig. Problem must be on his side.
SYN_Mugue Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Cpt_Cool, Seafireliv, or anyone else so inclined, Could you share your "trim"% settings? As I'm interested to know if all ffb sticks react the same way. And how they compare to non ffb sticks. Thanks.
GrendelsDad Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 (edited) I recall seeing someone with G940 having close to this problem...it may just be the g940 as I use multiple MSFFB2 sticks and they all work fine. I have everything maxxed out in FFB settings in game and my joystick filter at 2 i think. Maybe adjust the filter and see if that helps.(just a shot in the dark). EDIT: didn't see you already have ffb2. Edited June 20, 2016 by 6./ZG1_GrendelsDad
malexx74 Posted June 20, 2016 Author Posted June 20, 2016 (edited) @SYNMugue with -80 stabilizer the backward movement is way to rough compared to a Settings -40 for example.Like half of the normal way you can move is lost.At least on my end it's like this.Try Loopings with different Trim Settings, maybe you feel a difference. As for the Mig, since its pretty trimmheavy, after every move i make the Joystick try to back Center a little bit.(Center spring off) I try to increase Filter, maybe it helps.my ms ffb2 has the same behaviour as my g940 Edited June 20, 2016 by malexx74
Cpt_Cool Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 Mugue, With the 109 i don't use much trim. Like gridiron was saying up there around 57% sounds right to me, but I haven't checked it in a long time. Il2 requires the most trim for me. it wants to point the nose down tho. As far as the mig goes, if i make a harsh input, it creates a really "sloshy" ffb response unlike any of the other airplanes - just weird not an issue really.
Blitzen Posted June 20, 2016 Posted June 20, 2016 MS FFB has had problems with this sim since its inseption esp with the FW-190 but other planes as well. Some contolability can be adjusted away with sensitivity settings & adjustments in controls but as far as I have experienced nothing is perfect...yet.
SYN_Mugue Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Thanks for the replies guys, but I guess I didn't explain what I was after well enough...Typical, words are not my friends. IF you can find the time could you run this little test? Run a quick mission, with a 109F2, airstart @300meters, set the ata to 1.1 and trim to level flight while the speed stabilizes. Then report the trim techno chat value, and the indicated air speed. That's all. Ideally it would be good to see results from different brand ffb sticks as well as some non ffb sticks. I don't have any problems controlling the planes, I'm just very interested to see if different ffb sticks really are treated differently by the game.(Which would seem odd to me)
KG200_Volker Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 (edited) We are 5 persons with difrent PCs but same joysticks. MSFFB2, we all need about -80% trim stabilizer for level flight with BFs, but that depends on cruise speed, the slower you go the less minus trim you need, in a way sounds correct because the faster you go the more force is generated from stabilizer, what I dont know is if the numbers are correct, precentage of stabilizer trim to speed ratio I mean. Something that gets you confused is trim rate while you chand your speed that alters the behavior of the plane if you don't correct it. So you cruise with 450-500 km and you engage in a turn fight that drops your speed to 300-350, but usually you dont change your trim and you feel it unresponcive or something. Try to use an axis for your trim and change acording to your speed. Edited June 21, 2016 by KG200_Volker 1
SYN_Mugue Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 Thanks Volker, I think that your squads example likely confirms that the ffb is acting as it was programed. ie there is no problem here. Malexx74, your most likely just suffering from comparing BoS to CLOD and other older games. They ARE different. Just keep trying you'll get used to it. Just out of curiosity, I still would like to know what setting a non ffb stick needs.
malexx74 Posted June 22, 2016 Author Posted June 22, 2016 Thanks for your answers.i try to get used too.
