Well I will be trying it soon enough it just might replace my Tracker IR pro 5

It probably won't work "out of the box", but maybe with 3rd party drivers? There are mods for GTA adding support for what I would call "VR light" (1st person, head tracking, but no stereo vision). A comparable level of support should be achievable with the game, I would think.

I think this device was only meant to watch movies in 3D.

And play minecraft VR made by John Carmack ;)

It's actualy good device to find out what vr is about - and displays (phone) have better parameters than oculus or vive screns (bigger res and ppi). I did actualy manage to run (stream) RoF to it and play quake VR :) . There is lots of apps on it on oculus store and you can run cardboard apps too.

good to know, I know my iphone 6+ does 3D, can I use it for VR also?

The iPhone 6+ is plenty powerful enough and certainly big enough to be a good screen for VR. I'm not sure what type of VR headset will accomadate the larger size 6 series iPhones. The Samsung Gear will only work with some of the top end Galaxy S6/7 series. They also do one for the Galaxy Note 4.

Your phone will fit into the "Google Cardboard". This is a good way to try the VR experience to see if you like it.

There are a few different ways in which you can stream games to your Gear VR headsets but because it can only be connected to stream through wifi the latency lag makes game nauseous.

Here is a good guide worth reading.

I would recommend trying the free apps from the Apple Apps store to experience VR without linking it to your PC. If you like the experience you'll be wanting to order a Vive or Rift.

I got the Gear VR first of all and loved the VR experience. I didn't fancy the latency lag that people were saying that they were getting with the wifi connection, so I ordered the Vive.
