carve_gybe1 Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 So for some reason I managed to complete two chapters in part 2 of the campaign and then I realised there is also part 1. I figured I better start from the beginning and I completed chapter 1 of part 1 now as well. This isn't exactly the chronological path of the Battle of Stalingrad. Ignoring the fact that I am an idiot for not noticing there is a part 1 that precedes part 2, why did the game allow me to jump forward? Also, my Lagg-5 is still locked and it isn't terribly clear at what point this plane unlocks. Or is it that the only way to fly Lagg-5 is to pay for it? I do really complicated stuff for a living, but I struggle to figure this game out. Is it just me? How hard is it to add some menu that tells me....you have X points until Lagg-5 unlocks. All that aside (and crappy SP campaign) this game kicks butt. I love it! C_G PS Please don't tell me about PWCG...it feels too makeshift. It's like pac man.
216th_Lucas_From_Hell Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 It allowed you to 'jump forwards' because the Stalingrad pt.1 campaign was a free add-on that came a year and a half into the game's existence, so the pt.2 isn't dependent on pt.1 Originally it only focused on the winter part of the Battle of Stalingrad The La-5 is a 'premium' aircraft, like the Fw-190. They can be accessed via purchase here (scroll to the bottom). If you are on the fence, wait a month or two and snatch it during a sale for 50% less. Personally I feel the La-5 is worth buying full price, it has great armament and very interesting handling characteristics. For the record they are putting together some mystery improvements to the campaign, perhaps that will work out for you.
LLv24_Zami Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Hi! That chapter hopping sounds like a some sort of bug. Should not be possible to play chapter 2 before completing the first one. I don't remember how the unlocks are and can't check now so can't help with La-5.
seafireliv Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Had the same problem as you when I started. If you didn`t get the Premium version you`re going to have to buy the LA 5.
PatrickAWlson Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 PS Please don't tell me about PWCG...it feels too makeshift. It's like pac man. Have to ask about this one - what is it about PWCG that feels makeshift? Not trying to be confrontational, just looking for feedback. Sometimes negative feedback leads to the best improvements. 1

As the other guys have said, Chapter 1 was actually added later on (we got it last fall), so it only would have shown up more recently compared to the launch of the game. Its not a bug and I wouldn't worry all that much about it. I did do a full replay through Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 when it came out just to get the feeling for the whole battle from start to finish. From the main menu, click Profile and then you can see all of your accomplishments as well as the aircraft you have unlocked and the equipment/skins that you have unlocked. Your forum account doesn't appear to be tied to your game account so I can't tell if you have Premium or not but the La-5 (note: Gorbunov and Gudkov were not involved with this design so its just a La-5) is a Premium aircraft along with the FW190. You can buy those two individually and turn your game into a Premium version. It's what I did with BoS (and then went full on for Moscow).

Hey there Pat, well first i want to say that i really appreciate all the time and effort youve put into PWCG and that i know the question was not directed towards me. I think that he means that the GUI in the "APP" (or whatever the propper name for it is ) is hard to read (not as streamlined as the BoS interface maybe?) and that PWCG doesnt launch the game when you hit play. i know these are things you already know. I wish you had more direct support from the Devs since youre doing a great job for free and by yourself (im assuming this so dont quote me ) anyways i just never felt like talking about what i thought since youre doing such a great job and dont feel entitled to "complain" or request any changes. keep it up! many of us appreciate what youre doing here! 1

The GUI I get. I created the UI to get people into the period for RoF. I think it works better in RoF than BoS to be honest, but so it goes. It's fairly easy to take all of the images and just fill them in dark green. It's not as slick as the Bos UI but it does approximate the look. As for being embedded in the game ... oh well. I get that alt-tab seems to freak out a fair number of people. Doesn't bother others so much. Just curious as to other insights. A fresh pair of eyes is always valuable.
SharpeXB Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 If you play around with the GUI in PWCG you can change the fonts and text size, add your own pilot photo, select your personal plane skin and so on.
carve_gybe1 Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 Patrick, I feel I must clarify. I am not acquainted with the substance of PWCG, so my dismissal of it could justifiably be seen as unjustified. Being of the attention deficit persuasion, I must say I was sufficiently put off by the GUI, and the need actually to try to figure out which planes I have and don't have, to the point that by the time the puzzle of the various settings was put in front of me....I switched off. My ignorance of PWCG is therefore entirely my fault and perhaps also attributable to the limited time I have to try new things. Based on the feedback I can read in the forums, your creation must indeed be admirable and I bow my head to the effort you must have expended. But I point my finger at the devs and question their profit-making agenda. I don't think they see the potential of doing SP right....
