Cham Posted June 11, 2016 Posted June 11, 2016 Well everything is in the title. I could not find how to set the FOV(field of view) so I could get a triple screen configuration right. (3*1920 x 1080) 5760 x 1080 Thanks for your help.
GrendelsDad Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 (edited) You may have to go PLP to get the effect you are wanting in this game...but when you do you will like it I am sure. I believe the game supports 21x9 resolution so use as close to a factor of 21x9 and you will gain FOV ..any higher than 21x9 you start to lose FOV. Hope that is clear. I cannot link it from my phone but I have a PLP thread that explains the way I have it set up...let me know if I can help. Edited July 4, 2016 by 6./ZG1_GrendelsDad
coconut Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 The vertical FOV for 3d scenes is fixed in the game, so you don't need to do anything, a landscape setup like yours should work out of the box. When it comes to the UI, things are not so well. For the bomb sight, the horizontal FOV is fixed and the top and bottom of the view disappears outside of the screen. Same problem with the sun glare, which is 3 times stronger on triple screen setups, and the in-game map which you can't zoom out enough on the smaller maps. Some menus are off-center (like the player list in MP) and can disappear completely to the right of the screen. In the main menu and the map, GUI items are located far out to the sides.
GrendelsDad Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 Coconut I would normally agree with you...But you do gain a less stretched FOV with a PLP setup...No stretching of the side screens which also makes the bombsite fit onto the screen much better. when in 16x9 mode the engines on the 110 are barely visable, but with the PLP they are more visable without the stretching effect you see on a 5760x1080 setup as I have tried both. Not sure why but 21x9 seems to be point where the resolution ends. Maybe I am mistaken on the 21x9 but I am sure PLP gives a better image and you lose no horizontal FOV and if you increase the pixel count by a factor of 16x9 or 21x9 it will be fullscreen non-stretched goodness with little or no sacrifice to the vert. FOV. per example I find the best FOV resolution is 5120x2160 which is 5k which is a true 21x9 res.
GrendelsDad Posted July 4, 2016 Posted July 4, 2016 I would like to tell Coconut I should have just agreed with you...I checked when I got home and I am losing a bit of FOV all around by running PLP. I would guess around 5-10% without calculating. I will say the bit of FOV I am losing is stretched to the point of distraction for me. I really hope the devs consider the triple screens as they are adding VR support. as I would think adding more vert. pixels wouldn't be that difficult but I am talking things I don't know again. Nvidia was hyping the surround tech as applying to VR and 3 screens as multiple points of reference. I will check the bomb sight to see if that was better as I said and get back here.
