I love my old trusty ch-stick to pieces. Surely there are better and more precise products out there by now? But efter having tried several other sticks over the years, I have yet to find anything that makes me want it.

I don't like the twistysticks for rudder control much. Just can't get along with a twisting joystick. So considered pedals for a while. But my wife gave me the eye when I told her about my plans. So I had this great idea. Went out and bought a 360 controller, wired version. Also bought a small empty plastic box at the local hardware store (intended for home electronics builders projects), a few switches and lots and lots of wire.

Wife left to visit family for a day and was hoping I'd have time to do the laundry and house cleaning. But I had much bigger plans.

It took about 6 hours from start to finish. I was suprised myself as I'm pretty slow when it comes to soldering. But here it is. The thumbstick from the 360 controller is very precise and gives me perfect ruddercontrol using my thumb. An added bonus was 12 extra buttons. I could have added 2 more analog axises but the hardware store didn't have the right pots. I'm very pleased with it.

Hopefully this idea will help others. The 360 gamepad works like charm as drivers are aldready included in windows. Just a plug'n'play unit.

That looks very clean! Good job!

Well and has a advantage: you thumb finger react more fast to brain inputs than your foots. Scientific fact. :)

Thank you Uwe!

Never tried pedals but your probably right Sokol.

I'm now considering connecting those small forcefeedback motors I tore off from the 360 controller, perhaps see if I can get a touch of extra stall warning. That would be nice.
