The 19th GIAP  is a fighter squadron based in NA who fly for the VVS. We are looking for people who like to play with discipline, teamwork, and most of all want to be part of a cohesive unit. The 19th Guards are the fighter wing of the 258th Mixed Air Division. The 258th also includes a ground attack wing in addition to a bomber wing as well.

We are an active member of the Simulated Air Combat Community. We are somewhat different in that we are comprised of both AXIS and VVS players. The majority of the AXIS players are from the 4./JG52 and it's Fliegerkorps (more then 20 active pilots). The VVS are comprised of the 55IAP and it's 216th branch based primarily within the EU, and the 19.GIAP and it's 258th branch mostly from the NA community.

Utilizing this structure we have the benefit to learn from each other and to simulated missions and campaigns inside a community with even sides....We are also cooperating with other squads like the 6./ZG1 and the SG_2 from the Russian Community.

We are actively participating within the FNBF,SNBF, TAW, and In-War dedicated servers. In addition we co-sponsor some smaller campaigns on a weekly basis. You can also find us on other servers like 72AG DED, Wings of Liberty and our own server, Wings of the Eastern Front.

If you are tired of flying alone and desire some teamwork and discipline for making the mission a success... Come Join Us! We have open positions to be filled within the bomber, ground attack, fighters and SEAD ranks.

Come and join us : http://simulatedaircombat.enjin.com/19thguards

The 19.GvIAP is inside the JG52 squad. I will take care of the 19.GvIAP for some time (coordination and planning), the tactical operation is under command of P3zman in the 19.GvIAP. I still take care of the SNBF and everything but flying under the VVS side.

Rekt, I handle the website and when I saw you join I was hoping you were planning on signing up.  I mentioned this to P3zman last night.  When approved, I will make the changes and get you setup.

Hey guys can you give me the tactical numbers you are using? I was going to make No.70 - No.85 for the LaGG-3. I'll have the Stab.II./JG52 skins done soon.

Nice Work Specktre...I know the guys will appreciate your contributions to the unit.  You know you hear a lot of talk about CFS community and sometimes it's not too good...but I have to say, this has been the best Community I've experienced in a long time.  There is always someone out there willing to help.  For 4./JG52 there is a very long list....and don't think we don't appreciate it.  You skinners, mission builders, historians and the developers are the best!

Thanks

Well, 19giap flew following aircrafts:

I-16, from 22.06.1941  to  mid-july 1941.

4 MiG-3 were recieved for training on modern frighters in mid-july, but were aborted as unit got LaGG-3 series 1.

LaGG-3 series 1, from late july 1941 to 06.02.1942.

Hurricane Mk.II, from 06.02.1942  to  mid-may 1942.

From mid-may 1942, unit had two squadrons of Airacobra I and one squadron of Kittihawks.

From 25.06.1943, unit flew only P-39's.

In Il-2:BoS/BoM, we have only I-16 and LaGG-3.

Each unit in VVS have its own style of applying stars and especially numbers. There no unit emblems at all. Personal emblems were extremly rare.

I-16's of 145iap had:

White numbers, no stars on tailfin and fuselage, and two-colored camouflage - green uppersurfaces and blue undersurfaces.

LaGG-3 of 145iap had :

Same style, as we can see on Zaytzev's aircraft (White 54) and some others (for example, White 12).

I like the camo, personally. And if you could make the dice emblem I mentioned that would be sweet.

You guys are really going above and beyond, thanks so much!

Edit: Totally missed the dice in the back- awesome!!!

145 iap has been created on December 29, 1939. the 1st and 2nd squadrons (the former 1st and 3rd squadrons 38 iap, only 30 I-15bis) have arrived to Afrikanda by rail from Pushkino on December 15-20. the former 1st squadron 20 iap which planes have arrived to Kem on December 24, 1939 became the 3rd squadron 145 iap.

Forming of a regiment has ended in Kayral by January 17, 1940. 145 iap became a kernel of the Air Force Northern Aviation Group 9A which more often is referred to as Filin's AG, by name the commander of group colonel Vasily Mikhaylovich Filin (the lieutenant general of aircraft, the commander the 55th sad in 1941 subsequently).

Military operations:

On December 24, 1939 the captain K.P.Sokol (the commander of the 1st squadron) has brought down "Junkers" around Myarkayarvi. Finns would confirm Junkers's loss to JU-152, one crew member was salvaged on a parachute, three have died. During the Second World War the lieutenant colonel Konstantin Parfiryevich Sokol in 1941-1943 ordered 159 iap, then held a position of the assistant to the commander of 2 GVIAK on VSS. In air fights I have brought down personally 2 and in group 1 plane of the opponent. I have died in catastrophic crash on October 16, 1943, it is buried on a forest park cemetery Sosnovka of the Leningrad region.

On January 12, 1940 4 easy bombers Houker "Hart" under cover of 4 Gladitor fighters of a squadron of the Swedish volunteers of F19 (Flygflottilj-19) have made a raid to Myarkayarvi, base 145 iap. Attack was absolutely unexpected for land personnel (it was the first meeting of the Soviet pilots with the Swedish volunteers), has caused panic and desultory fire. Losses have constituted about 10 people the killed and wounded. Finns have lost three planes: two "Hart" have faced in air and have broken, the third bomber has been brought down in 6 km to the South from Sal by link I-15bis (the leader - the lieutenant Kryuchkov, conducted - lieutenants of Thunders and Bondarenko). One Swedish pilot has died, two were taken prisoner, three managed to reach the Finnish territory. Pilots of F19 have declared about one brought down I-15bis, the Soviet party on planes has not suffered losses.

On January 17, 1940 Swedes have revenged pilots 145 iap: one I-15bis has made an emergency landing after air fight in 14 km to the west of Kuoloyarvi, two others I-15bis have abnormally landed around Myarkayarvi. The Swedish volunteers Salven (Salwen) and Martin (Martin) have written down into the account 3 I-15bis.

On January 23, 1940 the lieutenant Konkin has shot down the enemy plane which has lit up and has fallen in 3-4 km to the north of Myarkayarvi. "Gladiator" from F19 squadron has fallen a victim of the Soviet falcon, the pilot Shyorvist (Sjörvist) has died.

In addition to air fights, during war three I-15bis were missing together with pilots, two I-15bis have been hit by fire of an antiaircraft artillery, one I-15bis because of malfunctions in the motor has made landing in the enemy territory and has been taken. Besides, on February 9, 1940 in Akhvenyarvi (Ahvenjärvi) it has been destroyed three I-15bis, and one more I-15bis is damaged in Kayral's airfield at night on February 18, 1940 during a successful raid of Swedish "Hart".

In total for war pilots 145 iap have made 1025 fighting departures and have declared 5 downed aircrafts of the opponent.

The commander of a regiment is the major Vladimir Nikolaevich Shtoff. During the Second World War the commander 157 iap, was killed in air battle near Peterhof 9/24/1941.
The military commissioner - the senior political leader A. A. Ionin
The chief of headquarters is the major Nikolay Konstantinovich Kuskis. During the Second World War the lieutenant colonel, the chief of headquarters 454 bap.
The commander of the 1st squadron is the captain Konstantin Parfiryevich Sokol.
The commander of the 2nd squadron is the captain Vladimir Aleksandrovich Veklich. During the Second World War the lieutenant colonel, the chief of an operations section of headquarters 147 iap (20 giap), the commander 768 iap 122 iad air defense, the deputy commander 193 iad.

~S~. Hello. Any need for a Noob.  Have some flying with Il2 when it first came out, but have been flying ROF last few years. I'm interested in flying and will do most anything to help a group when I can. I need to get up to speed with this game to be of any use to a group, but that's why I have it...to fly. I'm in California,PST. I'll wait for a responds. Thanks for Your Time.  ~S~ Pocketpete

Those look amazing spektre, however I forgot to tell you I sided with 71 for the number :(

Sorry I forgot to tell you. Also, do you know of any symbol or insignia that the VVS used for showing flight lead, or was it just the numbers? Either way, thanks spektre for doing these skins, I appreciate the hard work you're doing for your adversary ;)

And hey pocketpete, glad to see you make the leap to IL2 BOS. Don't worry about being new to the game, we'll show you what you want to know. We have a decent "training" program actually. Hope to see you on the TS server soon and, hopefully, SNBF this weekend.

No worries, all I have to do is turn off the 81 layer and then turn on the 71 layer. Panzerbar might be the one to ask. My knowledge of VVS tactical markings is very limited.

Just awesome is right Spektre.  Thank you very much for taking the time to do this.  I love the wear and tear on these....

Also, Panzerbar...thanks for the research on the unit and the material you provided....

Cool skins, Spektre!

As far as I know there were no particular 'flight leader' markings on aircraft, but that being said some flight leaders had their personal markings which made them easier to identify. You could try adding a red nose (as seen in the Yak-1 more commonly) to p3z's aircraft for example, but the one you have looks cool as it is.

Might I suggest a skin that has a high contrast to the terrain and something with a very high sheen.....
