-Roy-Cheesy-Chops Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Allright BoS Boys so im upgrading my pc from windows xp 32 bit to windows 10 64 bit i have a radeon hd 5670 grahics card and allready have a brand new 280x radeon to use soon i got a brand new hard drive 500 gb spare to use with my new operating system i have p5kpl motherboard running ddr2 memory 800 size 2 interleaved mode at 2.66 ghz a intell proccessor Q9450 duo core i cant use my fresh bought track ir with windows xp but track ir will work with windows 10 yet still to be installed and an up to date power supply now the windows 10 OP can only be used on one motherboard and one hard drive meaning once i use windows 10 on this original mother board it will need to stay heres whats with this i would like to find out how i can upgrade my pc further..what motherboard is custom for flight sims with great audio and usb slots in it i dont mind spending about £400 i have new PSU, A NEW OP,NEW GRAPHICS,NEW HARD DRIVE the socket in my p5kpl is a 755 socket and i cant find anything better to fit if i was to get a whole new motherboard what socket would work well for the CPU size im not a pro gamer i just surf the web shopping and looking towards flight sims plus view streams also looking to play music on a dj platform softwear, but really want very good audio currently have realtek hd audio in my p5kpl of which i recommend highly very good lots of options i can only have 3gb on my motherboard right now i do get some stalling screens and flickering clouds and planes.i thought that would be from my older 5670 hd radeon any i5 intell 775 socket size anyone know about i dont think i need i7 yet my motherboard is fab its just ddr2. i thought id be fine just upgrading my graphics card but then found out it my graphics card doesnt work on xp then Bos turned to 64 bit only and im on xp 32 bit so bought 64 bit windows 10 still to be installed also track ir will not work on xp hence the upgrade soon to 64 bit windows 10 so im looking for a mother board socket size 775 with up to date certanly improved memory or a an i5 socket size 775 cpu
coconut Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 I think you should consider upgrading your CPU. The i5 4690K is twice as fast as yours in single-threaded performance. I'm not advising you to pick an i5 4690K specifically, there's probably better on the market now, but your CPU seems outdated, appeared first in 2008 on cpubenchmark.net. Can you even buy new motherboards for socket LGA775 these days?

Can you even buy new motherboards for socket LGA775 these days? I have this cpu. Has run everything pretty much flawlessly for a year now, even the latest releases. Only needed extra ram and graphics card.
