I play only ROF and I have not tried yet to fly more complicated airplanes. I would like to ask,  will BOS be playable with Thrustmaster T.16000M and keyboard ? I have the opportunity to buy Saitek X52 pro cheaply, but it is still too expensive for me. Thank you for your replies.

I use 16000+kb. I think if you want to manual control all the levers in the LaGG during combat it would be a bit difficult. German planes are probably fine.

You can surely play well without it, it's not like a requirement.

I'm playing with just a joystick and keyboard but having completed a couple of flights in the LAGG I'm seriously thinking of getting a throttle quadrant to make adjusting prop pitch / mixture / water + oil rads / supercharger easier.

Playing with T.16000M and it works great. Actually, I think I have just enough buttons for the LaGG :) oil/water and mixture is bound to the right side buttons as they are the least used ones. On the left I have prop pitch, flaps and then two remaining buttons for view control (one key to zoom in and the other to reset zoom - essentially a quick zoom out). The hat switch is used for rudder/elevator trims. Trigger and top buttons are for weapons/reloading. Works great so far :)

Also, one of the top buttons are used for wheel brakes, as ground handling without constant wheel brake work is pretty-much impossible in BoS.

Although keep in mind that you can program this joystick with TARGET software, which allows you to make better use of the buttons as you can assign action when pressed/released and such. Probably this way you can even free some more buttons this way.
